 Does anyone what the promote option in the demo under the character select is and when you unlock it?

I was wondering this as well. Possibly a way to transfer levels from one class to another class a limited amount of times?

I think this might have something to do with the single-player Galaxy at War thing? They said the co-op could influence the SP portion of the game to some degree.
