I've downloaded the ME3 demo from origin and while it was installing, a message poped up saying error 'The VC++ runtime distributable package was not installed successfully. Setup cannot continue.'
At first it displayed a (1603) code with the error.
I downloaded the latest vcredist_x86 and replaced that with the original vcredist in 'Mass Effect 3 Demo>_Installer>vc>vc2008sp1>redist'.
Now when i attempted to install that game again it poped up with exactly the same message above but with time with the code being (5100).
I'm not sure what do next and i was really hoping to try out the demo.
If anyone could help, please do

EDIT: Just an update for those that have the same problem. I managed to get around the error.
Heres what I did:
-First google 'microsoft c++ 2010 x64' and 'microsoft c++ 2010 x86', go to the first links for both searches and download the packages.
-Don't install the packages just yet.
-Go to control panel and uninstall any 'Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 packlages you may have (maybe 2008 too, as I had them uninstalled also).
-Now go to: (C:)>Program Files (x86)>Origin Games>Mass Effect 3 Demo>_Installer>vc>vc2008sp1>redist. And delete both vcredist files in there. Replace them with the new files you've downloaded from Microsoft's site.
-Now open Origin and try to install the game from there. Hopefully the game installs successfully as it had for me.

The searches you posted are the same thing, did you do 2 searches for the same thing or am I missing something. I tried this solution and it's not working for me. was the second search for x64 sp1 or x86 perhaps?

NVM got it! the second search should be for "microsoft c++ 2010 x86"

When I tried to reopen Origin after your instructions, it came up with this error code:

This application has failed to start because MSVCR100.dll was not found.
Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.

And then when I reinstall Origin, it takes me right back to the start.
