To all you with characters under level 10 that insist on joining gold challenges.

Please, stop it. You're wasting everyone’s time. You do so little and die so fast you don't even make a good distraction for the enemy. 

That is all.

In order to be helpful for those that are new and not just being stubborn. You can select the difficulty at the bottom of the quick match screen 

Gold = Hard
Silver = Medium
Bronze = Easy

Stick to bronze at first. Seriously. Gold is almost impossible at times. The extra XP is a nice draw but you will most likely be dead every wave so it won’t matter.

This isn’t about skill so much as it is unlocks. At anything less than level 10 you don’t have the unlocks or talent points to be useful much less survive. Even then it’s still a struggle.

I don't think most of the people under level 10 are meaning to join a gold challenge game. I didn't realize you could specifically choose which rank to search for until my 4th or 5th game, and even then I got put into a higher challenge than I was searching for.

As was stated above, its alomst certain that they join those matches because they arent aware of what they are searching for, so it puts them in any match. Maybe since youre doing "PSAs" you could be kind enough to inform them when they hop in your match, how to search for Bronze matches. Im sure theyll be glad for the help, because i know if i was knew to this MP and thought it played like it does in Gold, i would have a very negative opinion about MP.

A sub-10 class level means that they're going to be relatively squishy and have relatively few talent points.

It isn't about skill. It's about pure numbers.  Bronze is pretty nakedly more suited to those clases.

I see, it's not that you don't get it... it's that you fail at reading comprehension. Or your trolling me somewhat successfully. 

I never said they shouldn't play. I said they shouldn't play gold.
I also never said it was about skill. I never mentioned the word or anything like it.

Yes, I agree it's not true.

By level 9 you can pretty much max out fitness, so that low level noob has the exact same amount of hp you have.

Further on weapons are not level restricted, so he might as well wield a widow X, have lvl3 warp ammo and extra shields for all you know. Not having damaging powers on gold is not a big deal as mob hp is too high. And most classes doesn't have CC or damage upgrades beside the training line. So it's 25% damage or so less then. Easily compensated with a good weapon mod.

And last but not least if someone is a tactical player with good reflexes, steady aim and works well in teams, I would take his lvl1 toon any day over a lvl 20 average joe.

So pretty please, elitist idiots who think character level determines anything in game think again.

LEarn to read before you make yourself look like a fool. It isn't about elitism, it's about having the hardware and talent points to last longer than five seconds. Skill can compensate somewhat... but someone with +50% durability is going to last longer than you no matter how good you are.

I'd almost aay you're trolling, but I know people who are like you and they need to be set straight as well.

I understand your argument OP. But I never pay attention to anything than fun. If a lvl 1 player can keep up on silver (like I did to be frank) I dont see why a 10lvl pc cant do good in gold.

Matter of opinion really. But the numbers are a harsh mistress I must say, on that you are right.
One must always know what to aim for. I'm level 14 infiltrator and all I do is run around reviving mates with occasional headshot or two if I can squeez'em somewhere in between but aint complainin'. Fun is fun, even if we lose ;]

I was rolling with lvl 8 Infiltrator on Silver and did pretty good for 6 waves.

Yeah, I drop out of gold games immediately.

And I've done my fair share of carrying level 1's through the silver matches they insist on playing as their first, because they weren't smart enough to set it to bronze. They die pretty much instantly and constantly, so I have to retreat, cloak, and repeat as I whittle the enemy ranks down to nothing.

Irritating, but it keeps me sharp.
Though half the time, one or two will flake out and leave because they're having to wait. Bastards. XD

Silver is not so bad, 3 of us on level 5-7 completed it without any serious problems. As long as you don't get overconfident that is and die horribly.

Gold can be scary though, but due to the leveling system you can reach your maximum durability by level 8-9, so it will be scary at lvl20 as well...

Nah, it's faster to start the match and 'suffer' that possible 3 mins a not perfect team member would amount in completion time than to wait for god knows how long until someone perfect joins.

If you yourself is subpar, then of course your concerns are valid.

If you think you are up to the challenge of going gold with a level 1, I think you should do that. There's no rules saying you can't, but is a smart move to play 2 or 3 bronzes with a new character. Every match last for 20 minutes, so it's not a big deal play it to up the level before going silver or gold.
