If so... what the hell??

That takes the fun out of ever possibly playing that way. >=[

Hey 'Reapers,

That's a good question - Let me try to clear this up for you.

Action Mode is defined as a medium difficulty, minor decision mode making it ideal for players who just want to jump in and start taking names (as such the Soldier [as a default] class is selected for the player). These two options (scale of decision making and combat difficulty) can be changed upon starting any of our game modes so do not worry!

You'll have to be a little more specific in regards to "no power customization," as I don't quite understand the question.

Hope that helped!

Yeah, I was wondering about that option. Then I started up another
playthrough and switched then decision making option after wards.
That way you can fully customized your character class etc, and still
have action mode if you want it.

I'm considering that mode as a second playthrough option.
I'm curious if that mode would be the BIOWARE version of the story.

Sure, allow me to clarify:

Playing the demo earlier, I noticed that squad points on the "Squad" screen are already allocated for both Shepard and party members. That is, as the player I was unable to invest those points myself into Inferno Ammo or Concussive Shot as I would choose myself. My question is if that's still the case in the full game.

Thanks for the reply. Only thing, restricting this feature to one class (soldier) kinda kills a lot of desirability to play an otherwise-attractive looking gameplay option, IMO.

You can change that by going to Mission Computer -> Options ->Gameplay -> Auto Level-Up - and adjusting the setting to auto level up you and your squad, your squad or no one.

I see your point in regards to how having a default class may feel restricting but keep in mind that all of these options can be changed (as much as you like) once you're in the game with whatever class you enjoy the most.
