Ok, that's a fair point I guess. But, is multiplayer the culprit for ruining the game? I played through it and recognized the difference form 1 to 2 almost instantly. If it's a bad game, multiplayer wont save it, if it's a good game, multiplayer wont ruin it. I've played through Uncharted 2 about 5 or 6 times and haven't touched the MP once. The campaign is so solid that adding that component doesn't dilute the final product.

You haven't played Uncharted MP? Give it a shot. It's not CoD or Battlefield, but that was part of it's appeal for me. It's a lot of fun.

But, yeah, ND has proven they know how to implement a sound MP and great SP, so I don't see reason to question the inclusion of MP in The Last of Us. They have a good track record.

Just the way they make their games, MP won't affect the SP, and if Uncharted is any indication, The Last of Us will be fantastic.

I'm just not the biggest MP person in the world. I do play COD just for that reason and tested Uncharted 3's MP a few times. I'll give it a go eventually, but Naughty Dog has shown with the Uncharted series that it knows how to write, act, direct and execute a game in all areas and turn out a gem every time.

Lol..whether they do it justice or not, they're doing it because zombie games sell. That's why they're doing it. If gamers get to shoot zombies, the game will sell.

This has nothing to do with character driven games. It's about milking the genre.

I missed the joke since that seemed to be pretty srtaight foward and professional presentation. Then you haven't been paying attention since guns, ammunition and the infected are sparse in the game. They've said it over and over again that your biggest adversaries are other people. It also wont be a cash cow or series since this game will have a story that starts and ends here and here alone.

Is that why they're putting niche formulas in the game that aren't popular in mainstream games?

Like the health system. Every game started to use health regeneration instead of managing your health with packs like the old BF games. Low ammunition so you can't plow through your enemies in the rambo form. You even have to manage inventory in the middle of combat. That means if you want a molotov cocktail, you first have to a scavenge the items and then craft it. Then dig in your backpack to get the item.

The enemies shown in gameplay video aren't even "zombies" they're normal people...

Sounds like you're just hating to hate...

I watch the video and laugh my ass off. Everything these guys claim to do, the Fallout series has already done. They're just cashing in at this point. Them saying no one else has done it right is bullsh*t.

Look guys, this has been done over and over in other mediums. If you want to pretend Naughty Dog has a fresh take on zombies, be my guest.

Uncharted multiplayer is nothing special, just assassins creed wih guns and funny comments. I love when ps3 fan boys start squealing like this. I played the game mode where you have to capture relics and deposit them in chests, that was not fun at all. Your delusional if you think it's amazing when intact, it's generic.

I'm a great fan of the post-apocalyptic genre and I'm not ashamed to admit that I love the zombie sub-genre too. Yes there are a lot of games with zombies in: so what? I do not play pure shooters so personally I do not feel any fatigue. And having said that, tell me what genre or subgenre wasn't done to death in videogames and movies. Western? Ok, then?

At the end it will allways depend on the execution. If the game will be able to focus effectively on survival, storytelling, humanity and charachterization it will be a fresh take on the genre. If the game will focus on shooting zombie The Last of Us will be less interesting (but it does not seem so from what I've seen so far).

I own a PS3 and I will buy it. Day 1 or not? It will depend on game's lenght. The Uncharted's game are fun but too short... if The Last of Us has the same kind of lenght I will wait for a price drop. 60 euros for a 8 hours game are a theft imho.

He said 'simple' not garbage Posted Image. If it makes it any better, I own a PS3 and both Uncharted games. Slimgrin is pretty much right that it isn't anything special. Yeah, the first was a little quirky, but after the tired, overdone multiplayer and the same cinematics and plot, the series easily becomes dull. They aren't really haters; they just aren't PS3 fanboys that hail every exclusive title as a hit.

I got to PS3 and Uncharted late, and after comparing on both consoles, PS3 exclusives are miles beyond anything microsoft has done for the xbox. The presentation and production in Uncharted alone is pretty revolutionary when compared to every other game made for consoles. It's easily the best produced action game series this gen.

Not talking to the guy who has to have every single story be 100% original in every way in order to like it.
By your very logic Indiana Jones is the worst movie series ever.
Not a fanboy.
I haven't even played Heavy Rain.  Its just that many people feel, and I agree that the Uncharted games is the very reason to own a PS3.
I just can't help but feel there's a hipster mentality thing goin on.  The more successful and big it gets the more it needs to be tore down.  From start to finish I feel that all 3 games are nothing but pure gold.  And there is something to be said that I am 3rd legacy 75 (max lvl) in the multiplayer and still playing it A LOT.

I like Uncharted's MP because it's a little different from anything else on the market. The vertical gameplay alone adds a extra layer of depth you can't find in other shooters on the market.

I'm not usually into MP games. In fact, the only MP games I play is MW3(rarely), BF3(PC), Mass Effect 3(PC) and Uncharted 3. Everything else can't hold my interest. I do think Uncharted 2 had better MP because it was simple in design compared to UC3. They went overkill on some perks and power play stuff in UC3.

And why do you guys keep calling people fanboys just because they like UC? That's a little narrow-minded if you ask me...especially generalizing people like that.

Anyways, Last of Us looks great. It's everything I want in a game right now. Nothing else is like it on the market. Sure, it might borrow a bunch of gameplay elements already done. But it's the only game where they're putting them all together. Show me another game like this on the market? I'd love to see one so I can buy it. That reason alone makes Last of Us a day 1 purchase.

@Rockworm you should play Heavy Rain. It's a great game. If you've ever played Indigo Prophecy, you'll like Heavy Rain.

So, I see this thread has been invaded by PS3 exclusive haters. The game won't even be out until 2013, give it a rest. If you're not interested, leave. It's that simple. You don't have to insult us, call us simple, because we like Uncharted MP or what we've seen from The Last of Us.

Pretty much this. Uncharted 2 or 3 are nothing special. Both compaigns are awefully similar as well, i just gave up half way in 2 and in 3 i can't be arsed to get off the pirate ship you captured on, the gameplay is just so repetive. Shoot enemies, crack a joke, climb stuff, repeat.

The only enjoyable aspect of Uncharted 3 is the hand-to-hand. I really enjoyed the interactivity of the pub fight but it gets so boring whenever the big guy pops up and you just do the same thing to beat him up.

Cinematics are great and the facial animations are the best i have seen, gameplay and story wise, this game is nothing interesting or new. It's only 'the second coming of Jesus' because it's a ps3 only game and to spite the Xbox fan boys.

I can not wait for The Last of Us. I hope it is quite scary, but i love zombies games and currently going through Dead Island again.

Edit: And i would like to apologise to those i have insulted while stating my opinion. Everyone enjoys different things, it's not my right to judge those who enjoy what i dislike.

What does Xbox have exactly?  Halo and Gears of War?  Forget that I think Halo is the most overrated game series on the market.  and Gears of War is what you pick if you can't have Uncharted.  Seriously any more testosterone poisoning and it could kill you just looking at it.

Before this gen I was nintendo.  And part of me still is.  I love the marios and the Zeldas but the Wii just lost me and I moved to PS3.  Above all else I'm a PC gamer but for consoles I think one a generation is enough.
PS3 has Uncharted, God of War,  Infamous, Brutal Legend,  Heavy Rain (I will play this at some point),  and a controller that I like the most.  Its not fanboyism to say that the PS3 has more that appeal to me than anything else on the market outside of PCs.
You can say its boring and repetetive and simple and stupid but every time I replay the series I find something to keep me enjoying it and loving it.  forget the multiplayer its freaking Die Hard meets Indiana Jones how awesome is that.
