Posts like this pisses me off.

Laziness? Anyone who is stupid enough to go there is nothing more than an arm-chair critic that understands little about game development.

Yes, it TOTALLY makes sense to switch to an unfamiliar game engine midway in a trilogy during game development.

You are brilliant, OP. <_<

They don't have to switch engines, they just have to refrain from making animations worse than they were in the last game.

Battlefield 3 is an excellent game in it's own genre, but that's beside the point. Bioware wanted to squeeze so many different animations in this game, they didn't have the resources to do them properly. Whether it's the hardware or time limitation, I don't know, but that's the real reason animations are the way they are, not lazyness. So instead of fewer animations done right, we have a bunch of them done wrong. But, hey, at least there's a lot of 'em! Quantity over quality, that seems to be the design moto behind ME3. I was so hyped for this game, and the demo brought me nothing but dissapointment.

Aaaand the OP's whining is the reason why we are stuck with Battlefields, Call of Duties et al.

When people think graphic and animation details is their criteria for good games, what to do?

No, for the 100th time, we just think that 3rd installment should not have some vital aspect totally degraded. I think that is pretty reasonable, not demanding anything extra, just adherence to already established standards.

It's not laziness, it sounds more like incompetence to me.

Yea makes me wonder what did they do for the 2 years. The gameplay improvements seem so small I can't fathom how something could be worsened. Plus assuming multiplayer really was made by different people.

Unless they really had to redo a lot of stuff because of the leak. Trial was removed just a couple of months back because Bioware wanted to surprise us etc. Kind of like what happened with Halo 2 when Microsoft suddenly wanted this and that changed and the end result was shoddy as hell.

I love the mentality that if you don't like it, its an inferior product that no one should enjoy. When did people become so self-absorbed that they actually believed that their opinions was gospel? I enjoyed the demo quite a bit.

Since a console doesn't have enough RAM to load more animations to it,maybe they could do some optimizing to decide which animatons or other stuff gets always being loaded to RAM,and which loads from the game disc or hard drive only when requested by the game.

But perhaps Microsoft and/or SONY should find ways to expand the hardware capabilities of their consoles since they decided to keep them more time running than usual. But the only expansion we have seen until now has to do with software features that have nothing to do with gaming itself, like recorded television...
Back in the Nintendo 64 days,Nintendo once released an expansion pack,a physical memory module that could replace N64's default 4MB RAM with with a 8MB RAM module, doubling its RAM and allowing games with far better graphics like Perfect Dark and Donkey Kong to be played.
Perhaps SONY and Microsoft should have planned backup plans like that in case their consoles would come to the situation of limiting game development because of their hardware.
Console manufacturers needed a plan like that.

It's not subjective.

Animations are tecnicaly terrible.

Graphics are inferior sometimes even to ME2.

Dialogue is cheesy as ****.

Wether you like them or not, holds no importance to the rest of us.

My tone was immature, yet I've been trying to stay as clean cut as I possibly can without reducing to basic insults. You may not have been defending his point but the fact that you had no bearing on this topic and posted to merely say "You're the one who's immature" surely places you in the same spot as us, which I can happily agree with.

Indeed, it does! But that was really my only point, because as far as the actual argument in the thread is concerned, I am actually more inclined to agree with you.

It is subjective, and we already know your opinion, stop spamming it please.

The "rest of us" are tired of it.  ;)

Since when are graphics and animations part of what make Bioware games special?

There you go, now bring it, b*tch.

OK, animations of Shepard(and all other characters and weapons and omnitool etc..) are worst in the series, worse than ME1 which has the most fluid and realistic animation(basically the best protagonist animation that I have ever seen in any game) and even worse than ME2 which had still good animation but not as good as ME1, but why?

I don't know the reason for your hallucinations, but I  don't see anyone telling the others to hate the game...

To be honest, I'd rather have lots of story, dialogue and missions than fancy animations.

If every other studio can get so much more out of consoles than BW then the problem is BWs not consoles.

Bioware does not use Frostbite 2 which is a monster of an engine. And PC is the lead platform for BF3 which makes all the difference. Scale down, not up. =]

I think it's funny that people like that think they understand what goes into making a video game lol

Regardless, the ME games are some of the highest quality games out there, call me crazy, but I think they might just know what they're doing. I don't see the problem to be perfectly honest. It must really suck to be as critical and cynical as some of the people on here cause I'm going to be enjoying the hell out of ME3 and they're going to be on here complaining about it and missing out on a whole lot :/ Such a shame

False dichotomy, established standards...you really don't read the topic, do you?
