When I started up the ME3 demo, I was expecting a shooter. Mass Effect 1 will always remain my favourite game in the series and one of my all-time favourites overall ─ period. Aside from this fact, I wasn't and still won't go into ME3 with terrible expectations, just a little bit lowered. The overall presentation and score were really nice, and I really felt at home with that. The menus felt a little too gamey, and I think ME2 struck the perfect balance, but they somehow messed it up. The clear graphical limitations that have carried over from the consoles to the PC are extremely visable and glaringly annoying. Low-res textures, odd FOV, distorted motion blur, grainy shadows, etc. Things such as logos on outfits (Alliance logo on the uniforms on Earth) looked terrible on cloth, but some of the metalic stuff (N7 armor) looked fantastic. Lighting and such looked good, although I feel like they're toying with the saturation too much.
Now, onto the gameplay. When they said they were going for the Call of Duty audience, they weren't kidding. Hitmarkers, Gears of War-esque cover system, clunky shooting mechanics, sloppy AI, etc. I felt like the enemies had little to no diversity, and even things like the Atlas Mech were just pop-in, pop-out DPS battles. The dialogue system felt way too linear, although I've heard that was just for the demo, so I'll excuse it ─ for now. Levelling up was a pretty smooth system, especially considering how little I was expecting.
Some other gripes were things such as the cheesy-ass dialogue, forced drama (that kid dying was just terribly done), and the typical, scripted scenes that are straight out of Call of Duty.
I think BioWare would have done much better without EA, but I'll reserve my final judgement when I finish the game.
What did the demo do to your expectation?

I didn't touch singleplayer since I want to experience it for the 1st time in the full game, but MP exceeded my expectations. I don't play multiplayer in general, so it's not like I'm a horde mode connoisseur, but I had a blast with this one.

Zero interest in the MP, so I've yet to play. The single player demo, and that damp squib of an intro in particular, was a big disappointment for sure; nothing like as offensive as Dragon Age 2 mind, but enough to temper my enthusiasm for what I hoped would be an outstanding RPG.

Oh, right, I forgot to post my opinion.
Since I had watched the leaked beta videos, the singleplayer component itself carried no surprise. It was exactly what I expected it to be. To be completely honest, it was slightly worse than I thought it'd be. You could walk around the STG base in the leaked beta, and talk to Wrex or Kirrahe. Not in the demo. That's a shame.
Multiplayer on the other hand...
I started playing it with little to zero interest for it, and 9 levels later, I think I'm in love with it. It's amazing how well the teams I was on communicated. I haven't properly played multiplayer since SWAT 4. And this even beats that experience.

How much has mass effect 3 been EA'd? Alot, I mean right to unlocking stuff in multiplayer. you buy packs which contain random stuff. Did you no that it orginated from FIFA so EA could make more money of people trying to get better players? Dam you EA! Still, don't if microsoft would of done much better (soz, I'm a ps3 player)

My expectations is still the same.
Like what Phaedon said, was hoping i could get some dialogue if i click on the characters.
No interest, played a match and i got bored.

Single Player was a mixed bag. I didn't really get into the beginning mission like I did early on in ME2 but its also not the worst mission they've had throughout the series. Its a tutorial it got its point across. Now Sur'Kesh i really enjoyed, it felt like many of the things i want from Mass Effect 3 even with so much cut out. The Combat looks amazing once you have full control over your characters customization and the design across the board is top notch when it comes to the action. We didn't play a demo that got into dialogue or decision making so I think its rash to say what its going to be like. I expect those aspects to be on par with Mass Effect 2.
The multiplayer was amazing. Me and my friend switched off playing Adept with just a pistol and the warp combos were awe inspiring. I like how they put objectives in throughout the waves and how it really mattered as to how your squad was built. I ended up chucking singularities while the asari i was playing with would detonate them. Some of the best multiplayer ive played after the first two level ups.
Ultimately i feel like even if Mass Effect 3 falls short in story from the first two im not going to be dissapointed by one of the best games of this generation. They achieved everything i wouldve wanted from them in terms of combat and i trust bioware to ramp up the story once the game gets going. Mass Effect 1 started a little slowly too in my opinion so im not worried that a less than stellar tutorial is an indicator of the game as a whole.

That’s fair, though I do question the wisdom of diluting the Reapers arrival by making what should have been a series highlight a fricken tutorial. Dumb!

Considering all the things they listed aren't really COD gameplay problems, they probably are just blowing crap out their rear end to seem important.
Opinion: SP was meh, but it's only a demo,
MP: Super duper fun.

It slightly lowered my expectations, raised 4 maybe 5 concerns that were not present prior to playing the demo. Overall I think he game will be good, will be a lot of fun and in my review looked at ups and downs of it for my point of view. The concerns still exist and some will be confirmed come release day but I have zero intention of cancelling anything. Overall my hopes/expectations for the game remain high even if reduced slightly due to the demo.

lived up to them, keeping in mind there should be a few more convo options in the full game. I wasn't blown out of the water, but that's not surprising after having seen the beginning of the game three times before playing it.
It's probably going to have some story flaws, dialogue flaws, (Have to hope there won't be any major problems with the characters). When everything comes together though it'll probably be massisively enjoyable, just like ME1 and ME2.

Have waited for it 2 years now and is nice to finish the trilogy once and for all, but i think ME1 will be the best one in the series, because the way how Drew Karpyshyn writed it that time.Mac Walters is also good writer, but i think Drew vision would have been better, if he had worked on it.

have absolutely 0 interest in MP and there is at least a 99.99% chance that I'll never even so much as open the menu for it once I have my copy. SP though from what Ive gleaned in the demo I love overall. List of things in particular I liked;
**--First and foremost, the graphics. I dont care 2 creds what anyone else thinks about them, I personally think they are an improvement over ME1 and ME2. Not that I hated the graphics in the other 2 titles seeing as how graphics are a very minor factor for me when it comes to my overall enjoyment of a game.
**--Like the new cover system. Or rather, the new mechanics that were implemented. Loved being able to shift from one point of cover to the next without having to break. Also liked being able to roll and slide over low cover. Some folks are going to be pissed about my reference but oh well, they can get over it, but it feels very Gears of War'ish, in a good way.
**--Liked the new sounds used for the weapons. The rounds now sound the way I always imagined they should being projected from a Mass Effect field and toward it's target. Cant really explain it better than that atm. I also like the fact that you know when you are out of ammo now because the old school ME1 overheat SFX is used.
**Love all the HM attacks. Especially Vanguards. Sick. As. Hell imo. It also made me fall in love with Infiltrator all over again. My new favorite tactic; TacCloak + HM = Me being a very happy camper
.
**Like Ashley's new look. Yea, I've seen it in the clip articles from G.I. but seeing it's actual application made it even better. I think it's the fact that her hair is actually down that makes me enjoy it. Not sure, cant really put my finger on it.
The only thing Im not really too sure on is the difficulty settings. Action, Role Playing, and Story. Seems to me the new settings are less about actual "challenge" and more about people's play styles. Me personally, I'll probably only ever use the "Role Playing" setting myself regardless if there is an achievement for playing on Action or not. Reason being, I play Mass Effect because of not only the combat, but being able to make the dialog choices and push the story in "my" direction. From what I've gleaned of "Action" you essentially get 0 choice in dialog selection and only go for combat. Imho, that kind of defeats the whole purpose of Mass Effect. But again, that's just me and Im sure there are going to be folks who enjoy that setting. I, however, will not be among them.
Other than that, the only other thing I can think of off the top of my head that Im not 100% sure about is Adrenaline Rush. It feels, "different" somehow in ME3 and not necessarily in a good way. I'd have to run Soldier through the demo a few more times to really pin down what it is I dont like about it which probably wont happen seeing as how I have my hands full currently with KoA. Anyway, that's it. That's my honest PoV of the game so far based on the Demo. Could sway either way once I get my hands on my copy in about 2 weeks but until then, Im pretty damn stoked

I didn't go in expecting anything, but since I loved everything (save for the cheesy dialogue during the committee scene), you could say it raised them. However, trying the MP portion definitely made me super excited to play the full thing.

Lowered my expectations. Particularly in the dialogue options. I'm hoping that was just the skeleton dialogue. I'll still get the game just to finish the series. I'm hoping that because it was just the demo that the real game will be better. Demo software has never fully impressed me with the full capability of the final product. Then again I've experienced where the demo was the best part of the final product and damn that was disappointing.
I'll give this a shot anyway. Doing one final run through with a Shepard making sure to have enough **** points transferred from ME1 to get the Jack v Miranda argument done right.

It hasn't changed them much. Despite a few things I disliked about the demo (some of which I've gotten used to now), there were plenty of things I like, and I'm still very much looking forward to ME3.
