Does anyone have the Raptor sniper riffle ( the rifle used by nemisis) and how did you get it?

Probably in the Veteran packs if anyone did get it. I've only gotten the Viper so far for snipers but I have 4 SMG's.

Widow and Mantis, I think those 2 and Viper are the only SR's.

EDIT: Then again I did get the Hornet which is a Cerberus SMG so MAYBE there is a Raptor.

Its not in the demo.

The only sniper rifles are the Widow, Mantis, and Viper.

Viper sucks btw...zooms way to much for a semi-auto sniper.

How is the widow? So far I just got the mantis. It hits hard but needs a headshot to guarantee a kill.

You can kill multiple enemies with a single shot. You can punch right through Guardian shields. Its absolutely magnificent.

I have a Mattock II and a Phalanx I. I think I got a Katana I recently too, but it's of no use to me as an Engineer.
I must admit, I like the new balancing on the 'Nax, but I miss the laser sights.

You can no-scope with the viper pretty easily IMO. Still buying vet packs for the widow though. I'm only getting scimitars though :/. I'm at scimitar VI and I never even use shotguns D:

Got me a Raptor out of a vet. pack a few minutes ago and I really lol'd at the pathetic damage it does compared to the Mantis (yeah I've got an Infiltrator), wish I had a Widow or Viper instead :\\

The raptor is somewhat like the mattock, and while yes, its lower mantis damage, you can place 6-7 shots in the span of a single mantis, i havent managed to get a lucky viper, but this has been a unique mid-longish range weapon that you can place headshots for, and allows for moving targets much more so. Though only raptor 2, its been very elusive for dropping upgrades.

I liked the Raptor a lot when I first tried it on my ARush Soldier, but now I'm not sure why. It's like the Mattock, except the scope is a real hindrance to accuracy in my opinion. That sounds counter-intuitive, but I find it's much easier to spray headshots without a scope. If you're going for ONE headshot, like a Widow for example, then the Scope is clearly better. I find it difficult to maintain multiple headshots with a scope.

I actually use the raptor on my turian sentinal. It's nice because sentinel isn't really a class that's made to methodically line up a shot, reload, repeat. I'm able to strip a targets shields and slam in a few quick headshots. The scope is very useful for doing this across the room, but the main reason I like it is the versatility. You can scope and drop, and then turn around and not use the zoom feature at all, and it handles like an assault rifle that actually does decent damage.

The problem most people see with the Raptor and the Viper is that on gold is just takes way too many shots to kill anything while the Mantis or Widow can knock off 1 full bar of either health/armor or shield/barrier from anything but the heavy units.

I like the Raptor but it's not for pure sniping. It's a weapon that can snipe but also can be effective hip shooting stuff that's in close. It's also got a low weight which makes it nice as either an alternate weapon (say to a shotgun) or something to snipe with until you get your weight reductions done.

So if you're after a pure sniper weapon stick to Widow, leveled up Mantis, or (I hate you if you have it) a Black Widow. If you want a sort of assault rifle/sniper hybrid try out the Raptor.

If you had to think about the Raptor in terms of more popular games its the EBR of CODMW2.

So its a long range AR more than it is a pure sniper rifle.  And no it does not have the same kick that the Nemesis has with it.

I agree, actually. Seems easier to chain headshot stuff with a Mattock, for me at least.

And without chain headshots the Raptor does pretty horrible damage.

I got the Raptor and so far I like it. Rapid fire, low zoom, low kick, fast reload, high capacity magazine. Sure I cannot one shot anything, but I can triple tap very very quickly. Will see how it holds up in silver/gold.

I used the Raptor a lot in the single player, the time dilation from being an infiltrator (and the weapon mod) made it quite a beast for chaining 6-7 kills before reloading/dropping out of scope, not sure how it stacks up in multiplayer without that mechanic but I went through large groups of enemies faster than I did with either of the Widows.

It absolutely destroyed armored units (esp Ravagers) in seconds with Armor Pen ammo on, even when fired from the hip.

You are incorrect, Sir. I do, in fact, have the Raptor.
