Every time I am playing this game I am constantly dozing off due to the massive amounts of long winded dialog Which is most of the time boring and completely un-needed. On top of that it also has entierly way too many dialog choices.

Actually, the exact opposite happened to me... not only was i not dosed off but my eyes were pinned open and i couldnt sleep unless i had played for at least 8 hours.. my "8 hours of sleep need" was replaced by 8 hours of play need.. and the dialogues is what made that game for me so believable and i felt so absorbed.. *sigh*

As I said before, people liking or not liking the dialog has absolutely nothing whatsoever of there being too much of it in this.

This isn't the Lord of the Rings Quadrilogy.

And yes the Lord Of The Rings actually has 4 books in it, not 3.

How is this thread still going?

Because just when you think the thread is done you have people like this post.

ne12o wrote...

wow, ****,
is this strawman village? every other post is a ****ing strawman fallacy.

dude is trying to say "whats the point of giving you apparent "options" when in the end there is only one actual outcome... in other words, why give you the option to select "no i dont want to join the grey wardens" when even after you choose that option, you get another tree that says "ok i iwll join". Thus the redundancy of the game dialogue choices"

I cannot find any evidence to see that the OP is against dialogue,
but instead the unnecessary dialogue sections which are clearly just fillers.

and all you strawman idiots can say is "oh, so you buy a game about joining the grey wardens and dont want to join the grey wardens, wtf"
what the **** does that comment have to do what hes trying to say.
i dont know if you idiots are actually or pretending to be incapable of understanding an explicit statement.

I will when you actually understand what a strawman argument really is.  Just because you saw someone use it on another forum doesn't mean you understand the premise.  It doesn't make you look cool using big words and sounding important when you actually are using the term incorrectly.

Fix the memory leak please, Bioware! a split second. If I go from Start to Lothering, it's already starting to lag.

Maybe you should actually go out and buy the disk installation instead of digitally downloading it.

Yeah, 'cause if Ford sells a car in their dealership in New York, and sells the same model in their dealership in San Francisco, but the ones sold in New York tend to have their airbags explode randomly in your face - it's the fault of the guy who bought it from New York. Moron. <_<

You keep saying that...and yet you haven't explained why that would be so. Not does it prevent the possibility that you might be wrong.

If Bioware's fanbase has shown that they like the dialogue, the conversations and the codex/log info on the setting, Bioware are hardly going to disappoint that fanbase by putting in less of it, just to appease others who might have lower attention spans. Simply put, they aren't going to hack off their fanbase.

And you still haven't answered my question. One of your earlier posts complained about the amount of childish responses you were getting. Seems pointless for you to do so if you then refuse to engage with, fully read or even respond to actual constructive points that attempt to actually discuss the issue with you.

Sadly if ford wanted to and got their lawyers together they could someone prove that it was your fault.  That's the kind of world we live in sadly.

Quadrilogy was an invented word used for movies, the correct word is Tetralogy. Lord of the Rings isn't a Tetralogy anyway, it's one volume consisting of six books, not four. It was only printed as three books by the publisher to save money. Lord of the Rings was actually supposed to be a duology with The Simarillion but publishers didn't want to print it and it didn't get relased until many years later. The Hobbit, if that's what you are including in your LotR Tetralogy, isn't part of the LotR story.

As for the dialog in DA, again, that's your misguided OPINION and a persons "liking or not liking" it is directly related to whether or not there is too much of it.

Do you ever get tired of stating opinions as facts and being wrong?

And I can say the same exact thing to everyone here. None of you have done anything to prove the opposite of what I am saying.

Biowares fanbase is not relevant. Prefrence goes out the window.
There can be too much of something and people still like it, and that can be applied to anything,
But liking it does not mean that there is still too much of it.

I'll take someone who likes butter for example:
Someone who likes butter and uses 3 pounds of it every meal (Which = 9 pounds a day), can use the same argument you do, and say that's a matter of prefrence, but anyone with any form of common sense knows that, 9 pounds of butter is simply way too much regardless if that is how much someone likes. So not only does the person who likes that much butter cannot see and or understand it is too much, but will also go to no end to find anything and everything to back up their side.

But you cannot take that butter situation and apply it backwards, because anyone with any form of common sense knows that for something to be QUOTE normal everything has to be balanced, too much or too little of something is unbalanced.

Even too much money causes people to become unhealthy, they become a completely different person.

I never said it was or implying that. and there is nothing in that sentence saying I ever said that the Hobbit is part of the series, book, or what ever word you would like to use.

"And I can say the same exact thing to everyone here. None of you have done anything to prove the opposite of what I am saying."

And you haven't backed up what you're saying either. Your the one with the beef about it. Back it up.

Heres the thing. The dialogues can be easily skipped through with a simple button press. Most conversations have an option that equates to "I wan't to stop talking now". Yet you still have a problem with it. I've asked you several times, politely, to explain why. You still refuse to answer or acknowledge the question.

You also insist that the fanbase for Bioware's games is not relevant and "Preference goes out the window." Yet you seem to think that your preference for less dialogue should take precedence over that of the majority of the people in this thread (and in that I mean the ones who responded to this as a discussion, not the ones who just threw insults). I'd like to know WHY? Since you use that option to skip anyway (as you yourself stated), an option that Bioware kindly put in for peope such as yourself, what exactly is the problem? I've re-read your original post, and the only thing you've said is that YOU find it annoying and that YOU find it un-needed.

Then I suggest you go back to school and or learn some comprehension because I have answered that at least 3 times within this thread.

6 actually and its not a trilogy or a quadrilogy, it was actually written as one book split into 6 parts and never intended by Tolkien as a trilogy Image IPB

You have? Where in this thread have you explained why you still have a problem with the dialogue even when theres an option to skip and an option to end the conversation?

And don't get nippy please. I haven't insulted YOUR intelligence.

More uneducated people just keep popping up left and right. I got news for you, the only people that are reporting this issue, are all the people who have it digitally downloaded.

stop posting your long-winded ignorance.  the memory leak threads are full of people who have the dvd version.  and you have no idea what a memory leak is if you think by definition it has to affect everyone equally regardless of system specs.

I enjoyed the cutscenes, extended dialogue and the dialogue options. So much more refreshing than most of the games these days, with like three cutscenes and then you go shoot things the entire game. *sighs*

eh? what was that? Doze off you say?
Yeah I doze off playing the game, especially after 24 hours straight playing. at times in the middle of battle too - but then again, I'm an old age pensioner and expected to doze off, right?
Besides, I look forward to those little quick naps, thank goodness I can set my crew's tactics to do all the fighting while I nap. All that bloody walking is tiring for a little old dwarf with short legs.
