When I tested the single player demo, I noticed the shadowing was all messed up in the Earth demo on my computer. Several times in cutscenes characters would appear almost completely dark. In the scene with the kid inside the vent I couldn't even see my Shepard's face, besides his eyes. Is there a way to fix this? Because it kind of messed up this emotional scene.

In the Sur'Kesh demo is became better, but that place weren't a dark area.

I've tried changing the brightness btw, didn't help. All it did was messing up the colours...

This is common behaviour. You have to set up three cinematic lights and the spherical harmonic lighting. In addition dynamic shadows have to be turned on in order to avoid this issue. But the demo sets the graphic options by default to the best possible options for your graphic device while it's still playable. So if the settings were that low it could mean that your graphic card isn't good enough for ME 3.
