Though I don't dislike Jack, I don't get why Shep would let her on board either, she is a threat to the Normandy...same goes for Grunt in my opinion....If I was given a choice between who could and couldn't board the Normandy and join the team my Shep wouldn't recruit these two purely from the threat posed to the Normandy point of view.bobobo878 wrote...
Some of my other Shepards like these characters, but my Sentinel does not.
1. Ashley
She killed Wrex! Not even sacrificing herself to destroy Saren's base was enough to make up for that.
2. Samara
Based on what she told me about the Collectors and Nihlus, she no longer trusted in her own judgement after birthing three Ardat-Yakshi, and until her death she allowed her code to think for her. She was a dangerous zealot meddling in galactic security affairs that she did not care to understand.
3. Dr. Archer
A man who tortures his own brother in order to develop a weapon he intended to use to commit war crimes against a potential ally? What's not to like?
4. Kaiden
When I was on Horizon and he called me a traitor for saving people from the collectors, and when he told me that Cerberus was behind the collector attacks and was just using the threat of the reapers to manipulate me, I recalled the council telling me something quite similar about Saren. Kaiden is a tool of the council, and no longer my bro.
5. Jack
She really made me wish I could have been more selective about who I let into the team in ME2. If I'm going to let someone with biotics trong enough to pull the drive core out the main gun aboard, I'd at least like to pick someone with the emotional stability to control that power.

Udina and Conrad Verner are the only people in the game that I hate.
I don't hate any of my squad. Though Ashley took awhile to grow on me. Jacob still hasn't but still no hate.

So my List
1.Udina: BW did a great job making him Easily the most hated character for the same reason by everyone Because he is a Self Serving Politician Our to Only Further Himself and Feed his Ego. Udina for being Udina.
2.Tali:Her personalty just bugs me, and her voice and stammering and how she presents herself everything about her bugs me. Then she was forced on MY team by Udina and again she is shoved on my team by BW and She is Still Tali, and I hated Tali to begin with and this makes me only not like her more because I never respond well to something being creamed down my throat. Please Tali fans don't take this personal. I'm going to be more mindful and call you fans as opposed to the other term.
3.Warlord Okeer: This Korgan was a complete nutcase and he was probably insane. His motive and reasoning to making the Perfect Krogan and who he went about it was so whacked out and came off Insane. It wasn't till recently I realized I was taking my hate and views of Insane Okeer out on Grunt who was just created and really was out of place. It wasn't fair for me to hate Grunt like that but it was apparently something I did/ SO Okeer for being completely insane and Wanting to make a Perfect Krogan complete with the Genophage.
4.Turian Council Member: He is always an @ss No mater what you do he is still an @ss to me. I told the 5th fleet to go in and save the Council and he is still and @ss to me,
5.Morinth: A Cold Blooded Serial Killer who's also Addicted to Melding and Killing. On top of all this one could also view her Seducing Mind Control that she does to her Victims as a type of Rape. Wow now that is a lot, Serial Killer, Serial Rapist, Addict, Vampire, Shows no empathy for her victims, An over all bad Egg. Don't play the genetic defect card because not all Ardot-Yaksi are like Morinth.
Wow this list was more harder to come up with than I thought it would be. I really thought about it and why I hate the character.
I didn't go with Conrad Verner because he's an Idiot that I find funny. Like Dewie Crowe from the FX TV show Justified completely stupid, but in his own unique way that makes him enjoyable to pop up every so often.
Please try and keep this topic from turning into a fan base War. And please don't ruin it. I shared my reasons why I hate these characters don't mean you have to agree to them and Please don't debate why I hate them bacuse as people we all are diffenent and allowed are views and opinions so please don't ruin this topic by starting a war and picking it apart and taking this topic too personal.
Your entitled to Hate or Love characters for any reason but don't make an @ss out of yourself by taking it personal

1. Samara (She's a decent enough character, but I still dislike her as a person. Her duty was to protect her children, if she couldn't bring herself to stand by Morinth, she should have remained with her two other daughters, instead she chose to become a murder and a zealot, as dangerous, ruthless and uncaring as the person she is hunting. I understand her motivation, but I strongly disagree with it.)
2. Liara (She's inconsistent, therefor not a great character, and she's constantly pushed down my throat, she's clearly the writers pet and has some Mary-Sue tendencies and that makes me dislike her. I did like her after the Lair, briefly.)
3. Aria (She's just a thug, a big time, classy thug, but a thug all the same, I don't get her popularity at all.)
4. Jacob (Don't really dislike the guy, he just rubbed me the wrong way. I thought I'd like him on the Lazarus station and Freedom's progress, but once he boarded the Normandy he became really closed off, passive aggressive and weird. It was like him and Miranda decided to switch personalities. I don't like inexplicable personality changes... I think that what he says when he has nothing to say is what irks me the most.)
5. Miranda (I don't dislike her, I'm just not convinced that she is a good character. Like Jacob, she is inconsistent. She's stand offish, than warm, than stand offish again. She's professional, but than gets all passive aggressive on other squad members, she's pragmatic, but keeping the collector base "feels wrong" and we shouldn't do it because of it, she's loyal to Cerberus, but quits without much thought... I think they tried to do too much with her. To me it seems that most things that I perceive as weird or inconsistent about her character are born out of the writers love for her, which I can understand. As I said, they wanted to do a lot with her, and they could have if the game was longer, but it was not and it only ended up hurting her character IMO.)
(dis)Honorable mention: Thane (I don't dislike the guy, I sympathize with him and I'll be sad when he dies, but damn was Bioware ever trying too hard... A member of a very rare, very exotic dying race with an ability to relive every event in their memory, a spiritual guy, worshiper of a dying religion, a bad-ass assassin who wasn't given much choice in the matter, cultured to the point of extreme unlikelihood (quoting human philosophers, correctly, while knowing who they were), tragic past involving a dead wife, an illness which leads to the whole redeemer aspect, leading to the death-seeker type... I could go on, and on, and on... You get the point. I think it's too much. Not inconsistent or anything, just, trying too hard.)

There are other characters who earned a lesser level of hate from me, based more on the fact that I find them annoying rather than being horrible people.

She's angry, boring and just created to be sex-appeal. I hate her, I really really do. I mean Jacks angry to but she at least have a reason for it, Miranda is just ****ing about how hard it is to be "perfect".
2. Morinth
Well she's just a ****.
3. The Council
"Ah yes, Reapers"
4. Donovan Hock
Well he's just an ass, arrogant. I like his art-collection though, and his house, would not mind to live there.
5. Kor Tun
He's racist and hates Quarians. Quarians are awesome, don't be racist.

But I'm gonna get on the troll-wagon anyways and post my hates.
1. Tali- Useless, whiny, annoying, and a waste of space.
2. Tali- See 1.
3. Tali- See 1.
4. Morinth- Not really hate, just almost always killed her. Sociopath with an addiction to killing.
5. Garrus- Dude, why you followin' me around like a dog? Go do your own sh*t man.

After LOTSB Liara becomes one of the better characters in the game.
Totally agree so glad i romanced her now. In ME1 i just romanced her pretty much because I hadnt romanced her yet (had done Ash) but in LOTSB she is awesome and if romanced some of the dialogue is brilliant so kudos writers. A aweome maturation of a character. As for most disliked
Kaiden and Jacob because I just find them bland sterotypical good guys
Jack I really didnt like but I know some people love her. I just found her backstory to be pretty cliche (damaged deep down) but I know some people love her and thats fine
Hated Ashleys poetry but at least it was something new. I kind of liked that she was a bit of a bigot it was something new and not really seen. Im wondering if now that she has had so many alien squadmates her worldview will change (like Pressleys at normandy crash)

Kasumi/Zaeed
Udina
Grunt
Jacob
Officer Tammert
Regardless of what we think of such characters, it is testimony to BioWare's ability to flesh out characters to the extent that we have strong opinions towards them.
Way to go. Hopefully, we get to see how these characters develop in ME3, at least in the context of the larger story, when they get tested to the limit.

2. Jacob: He's so annoying! His stupid "But the priiiiiize" line is his only redeeming feature because it's so bad it's hilarious. I also felt like, when talking to him with femShep, that the idea of him being the LI was being rammed down my throat. Every time femShep goes to talk to him she assumes this "MY BODY IS READY" stance. And on the dialogue wheel picking any innocent but nice wording seems to result in her doing this low purring thing with her voice and being all "OOOOH MR. TAYLOR~~"
3. Udina: Biggest jerk in all of space. Oh, wait, second biggest. I forgot about..
4. The Illusive Man: Kind of a given considering you're pretty much supposed to hate him. Still. If I can't kill him in ME# I will be seriously put out.
5. Grunt: Dude just.. bugs me for some reason. Maybe just because he's not as awesome as Wrex.

Thus, I'm going to focus on characters that fail at that. To me they're boring and/or superfluous to the story.
1.) Thane
2.) Samara
3.) Tali
Besides trying to fill some kind of badass quota, Thane and Samara really don't serve much purpose. Plus they both come very close to filling the same archetype niche--they're both basically spiritual warrior-monk types. Slightly different but not enough so to justify two separate characters. I personally wish Thane and Samara had been combined into one character (Thanemara?).
And as for Tali, most of her role in ME2 seemed to be based on her being a returning fan favorite, and I get that she was for a lot of people... but since she was just a walking codex entry in ME1, I feel like I missed the part that was supposed to make her endearing to me. It's like they skipped the step between "info dump" and "fan pandering" that would actually make her an interesting character. ::shrug:: She just bores me.
Those are the only 3 that I can think of, and I don't really dislike them. The closest thing I can muster is "indifference", and it's just personal preference.
