Indeed. Though I do remember all my friends playing nothing but Turbo after a while, I guess you could compare that with something like the recent Fallout New Vegas Ultimate edition, which includes all the DLC (and I know other games have done this). I don't think Mass Effect ever had anything like that did it? It would be nice to get everything at some point for a reasonable package deal.littlezack wrote...

I think a number of things have changed in order to get the opinions we have today. First, it's a lot easier to market now, with the internet and business models being up to date, devs can display right on the game launch screen that there's new DLC available. I'm not sure when exactly this practice became common, but I can recall a time when I could buy a game for my Sega Genesis and that was the end of it, I had the full game. I know there were sometimes expansion packs, but the title of this thread illustrates the lengths you have to go to in order to have the COMPLETE Mass Effect 3 game, which I think is a new practice.
The only reason they didn't do DLC back in the day was because they couldn't. Hell, they even made some attempts at it. Remember Street Fighter II? Super Street Fighter II? Super Street Fighter II Turbo?

Thank you. I doubt it will convince anyone but I am tired of people comaplaining based on misinformation and rumour. Better to complain about stuff that's actually happening.Rivercurse wrote...

If you know Stan could you clarify what exactly that Collector Assault Rifle unlock DLC/Powerup is? If it was said elsewhere I missed it. It seems that the general assumption is that it is stuff like the Vetran/Recruit packs to unlock items.

I just want to thank you. It's not often that I have the opportunity to say it publicly so, again thanks for putting up with us!

Nope. It's conceivable that we might see something like that when ME3 launches. Or we might not.

It's my pleasure, really. If we didn't have this online community composed of fans of all stripes, my job would get very dull indeed. I continue to be a Moderator because I truly love our fans. A very small percentage requires a different kind of love, perhaps, but it doesn't change the fact that I like participating in discussions and arguments. Just try to be sincere and genuine, please, and above all, be excellent to each other.Praetor Shepard wrote...

If you really love us crazy fans, any chance we'll see you online in ME3 Multiplayer? That'd be one way to get in the trenches with the fans:P

Get off your high horse, Stanley. If I remember correctly BioWare isn't that good at marketing. Leaked script, crappy demo, fugly femshep, this dumb PSP licking chick, we derp or we die, focus on the brainless CoD crowd, etc etc.
Yeah, yeah, be ex.crement to eachother.

Yep. Part of marketing is to avoid all the crap I listed. But why do I even bother. Biodrones gonna drone.

Yeah, well, there's plenty of stereotypical behavior to go around. The more critical posters are just as capable of droning on and regurgitating pet talking points as anyone.

Aren't the figure DLC more or less just Veteran Boxes for multiplayer? Buy a figure, get a Veteran Box in-game. They're even randomised, hardly worth complaining about or buying figures for DLC's sake imho.
half a dozen in this thread alone have stated as much but people still believe DLC is mandatory so /shrug w/e
lost cause to repeat the same thing over and over again. people will believe what they want to believe and I give props to Stanely for posting in yet another DLC complaning thread

What, the horrible quality of the overall presetation based on the demo running only a month-old build? And the lack of any official response to the plethora of problems encountered there in?

Stanley repeats himself in every thread like this one, stating the obvious. You don't have to buy the missing content from your game. Well, it's still a sleazy and underhanded marketing tactic that short changes the consumers and inspires nothing but badwill. That's my opinion and you don't have to believe it. See? I can state the obvious as well.
What's interesting is that a company like Doublefine can get 2 million bucks from it's fanbase to help fund a future product. The reason? They treat their customers right. They don't pull shady stuff like this. I'd love to see how Bioware would do in comparison.

as I and others have stated, the wording on the figures' DLC indicates that you're essentially getting random MP packs (ergo no missing content), likewise for the collector rifle. the only "missing content" is the day one DLC that I'm 90% sure to happen and that's not even related to cut content. it's EA's project $10 (google it if you're clueless what it is)...
tldr: if you buy the game brand spanking new you're getting everything.
