Doing an Evil playthru of BG1 now and got a relatively low rep (4); I get to Nashkel and out of the blue Imoen goes in a strop and leaves forever.

Im like "wtf?"

Isn't she supposed to be like ur best friend, stick with you no matter what type?

Is her leaving WAD?

I should note that I have the BG 1 NPC Project.

I think the "Imoen never leaves you"-thing is BG2 only, but I could be wrong.

Imoen will definitely leave you in BG 1 if your rep gets too low...just messing around killing everyone in the city of Baldur's Gate, I killed so many flaming fist (that's -10 rep each) that she left. As Enuhal says, I've never seen the same behavior for her in BG 2. She'll stick with you in BG 2. She is a neutral good I think, so it's not surprising she does this. If you want mayhem, have Montaron in your party : )

In vanilla BG1 or TotSC, you can turn off Party AI to prevent characters from leaving due to reputation, as well as to prevent party members from occasionally attacking other party members of opposite alignment. They'll swear at you as before, but won't fight you or leave. You'll always have to control your characters manually in any combat though. I would not be surprised if in BG2 (and consequently, Tutu and BGT) this was deemed a bug and "fixed." :)
