So now we have Alliance daily instead of Cerberus? What happens to the evil mook network do they just get shutdown or will both sides be running different and occasional overlapping (but with different view points) of stories and events?

The quarians tried to commit genocide? When? All I remember is that incident where they tried to shutdown their malfunctioning machines, which ended up killing most of them and kicking them off their planets.

If you seriously think the "Quarians" (as in the species) tried to shut down the geth, you are seriously overestimating how much unity a group of people have.

Still genocide.

Also, you don't realise that everyone gets grouped together unless you're a straight white male.

Shutting down rudimentary AI isn't the same as genocide.  Legion himself tells you that treating the destruction or reprogramming of the heretics is not the same as killing or mind washing a group of organics.

The article was awesome.  And I can't say I feel any pity for the Council.

Not only that but to shut off not destroy. Like they would destroy their whole economy. They would have certainly shackled or eliminated the geth "awareness" before it became a problem which it obviously did. How lines of code feared for its existence is the biggest plot hole but no one complains about that. Legion says they do not have emotions so to fear being shut off or losing independence would not affect them at all.

BW keeps adding real world situations into their games. Iran and inspectors anyone? Great they gave Diana the byline.

"Diana Allers is a war correspondent who appears regularly on ANN’s “Battlespace.”

Bioware, please don't push that stupid reporter on me before I even play ME 3.

I'd be less irritated if she wasn't voiced/looked like that absolutely ridiculous Chobot woman.

Damn it you don't quote a clearly subjective statement of a blogger in a piece of legitimate news report. It diminishes the reputation of both the reporter and the publisher of their work. Bioware I better have the option to punch Diana Allers, Not for her offensive purview like that other reporter, but for her offensive disregard for the proper standards of journalism.

I love it, the council all but reject the Quarians but expect to board their ships for an inspection, I'm not in favour of Han Gerrel, but you tell em buddy.

Yeah, I found that hilarious.  That's as stupid as you can get.  The quarians have never said they are going to go after any council race or their allies, so it's at most a minor issue.  If anything they know the Quarians are going to go after the Geth eventually.  The council should really just be wary and keep an eye on the Quarians and prepare just in case the Geth decide to invade if the Quarians fail in their invasion.

Considering the Quarians only real conflict has to do with the Geth, I'd say the Council it just bullying. I doubt they even want them to reclaim their homeworld, or any world.

I say bravo for not letting them carry out their inspection.

They don't want them to claim any world.

Anyway, I applaud this blog.

Not genocide. Not even close.

Although what the geth did counts as such.

I'm generally pro-Council but I'm siding with the Quarians on this one.

The Quarians are no longer a member species of the Citadel. Considering that and the fact that the Council stripped the Quarians of their member status to begin with, the Quarians have every right to tell the Council to 'F--k Off' on this matter.

The Geth are sapient beings, and the Quarians knew it when they tried to eradicate them. That fits the definition for xenocide. In fact the panicked realization that the Geth had become sapient was the whole reason the Quarians tried to wipe them out.

It is only genocide when the quarians do it. When the geth start killing organics it is only in "self-defense"

What can I say, after what would become hundreds of years of CNN using social media like twitter in place of reporting, Journalism got a dick in the ear.

The quarian society is obviously on the verge of something big, which is very important to them. It's this or that, so to speak. Right or wrong, reapers or not, it does no matter to them them. It is their very future that is on the line and they are going in. The end. Screw your politics and whatever it is you think of them. They want to live and that's the button line for the Quarian people. It work or it does not. It have to work.

That gun is all they have to look forward to. Keelah se'lai!!

Actually no.  The Quarians tried with deliberate aforethought to eradicate an entire race of sentient life.  That is the very definition of genocide.  The Geth while hardly having clean hands, never made it a policy to eradicate an entire race that was sentient.  Thus it is not genocide.  [Now the Heretics in following Saren WERE guilty of attempted genocide, but those aren't true Geth.]

You make a good point. Once the Quarians realized the jig was up and fled their home planet, the Geth did not pursue. Presumably the Geth could have followed and destroyed the Migrant Fleet at that time, but chose not to. The threat to the Geth had been removed and that was sufficient.

What happened to the Quarians could have happen with any species developping AI tech, they played with fire and they got burned hard, but 300 years of exil for an entire species is enough punishment

I support Geth/Quarian alliance !

Agreed.

The Council is a little too heavy-handed with the Quarians. They lost their home planet and most of their population along with it. I think that was more than enough punishment for playing with AI.

It's only genocide if you accept AIs as life.

And what do you mean the heretics WERE guilty? They ARE guilty. You make it sound as if they reformed.
