Seriously, there's too many matches like this:

Level 2
Level 8
Level 12
Level 18

Of course, people drop out and you're stuck with a single person in a way too high level.

It's time to get real matchmaking, BioWare. And penalties for quitting, too.

being that it is cooperative what is wrong with someone who is higher level then you? thats not to high a level it just helps. I do agree with penalties for quiting but honestly the level differences does not bother me at all. What I would perfer is a quicker way to get a full room.

Last night I got nothing, but level 1's-4's on my team so I decided to go with my level 19 Sentinel and help them out.

Game balance. As far as I can tell, the difficulty of the multiplayer is decided by how many people are in the session and their levels. Whether or not it's the highest level or an average of their levels I don't know because I haven't played enough to get a good idea. But the point OP is making is that it unbalances the game. If you're level 1 and the other three players are level 8 and above, then you are basically up **** creek without a paddle if one or more of them drops out/dies.

On the other hand, if the difficulty is based on an average, and you're level 8 with a bunch of level 2s, you get bored because now the level is too easy.

The problem is on higher difficulties, trying to get a group that's leveled up enough to handle the scenario can be difficult. I've played about 10 silver games, and only about 2 of them had a group that was geared towards that difficulty. I'm not the best gamer in the world, by far, but when I'm consistently at the top of the leaderboard at the end (when we invariably fail), something is wrong.

Someone who's got the skill to play on a higher difficulty, I'm ok with, but it's easier if the people I'm playing with are at least equivalent in level. I'm level 17 with my adepts (human and asari, I use both) and I've yet to beat a silver game because I can't get into a match with a good team.

80% of all gold games that get created have atleast 2 people below level 5 in them, its like WhAt. Who designed a matchmaking system like that? .. The other 19% and 1% have 1 and none below level 5 .. It takes hours to find a gold game with atleast everyone above level 10.

Also, why can't me and my friend join the same game more easily? Whenever I create a game, no one joins. Whenever one of us joins a game and the other one follows immidiately, the last person to join is met by a "the game is full" message; even when the game isn't. Also after every game joined (or not joined) and left, i have to restart the client or get stuck on some loading screen (which takes longer than just alt+F4-ing)

..Once I get in tho, the game is very fun and challenging.

This is a huge problem on silver. I keep getting into games with level 3 morons who don't understand how hard silver is. Bronze is a breeze with my 19 vanguard. I don't even play smart anymore... I just charge around and destroy everything. But on silver, I can't get a group of players to survive beyond the 5th wave...

Then start hitting up the folks posting their GTs for origin or xbl. You've got a whole community of gamers here wanting to co-op and who know their arse from their elbow.

Maybe this has something to do with MP is FFA now?

Think about that, more players means alot more quene time to get into matches.

Why should I lose my rank for quitting early, there could be many reason why to quit early. I too feel if I'm a skilled player, good rank. I want to play with those who are the same.

Ive played with low levels that were pretty good...played smart at least. And ive played with high levels who were idiots. Levels do not describe how the player plays.

Also...you can always leave and find another match, or get 3 friends and make a match with them and fight together. Its a co-op game, matching "levels" means nothing.

But, rule of thumb:
Bronze is good for levels 1 and up
Silver is doable for the teens (13+)
And gold...you better be level 20 with good tactics and buffed mods.

So...if you are playing on bronze...stop complaining and teach the newer players whats going on.

Yeah, it pretty much sucks and needs to be worked on. The times I didn't get a connection, had only two to three players with a third/fourth never joining or had the problem of wildly mismatched levels is, uh, pretty much always. I had maybe three matches where everybody was about the same level and everything worked fine. Out of thirty. And probably sixty situation where I dropped the lobby after waiting four minutes for a third/fourth player. And sixty more non-connects.

Not even mentioning the hotbar bugs and that scaling ladders is playing roulette with the chance that some of your abilities won't work anymore afterwards.

And the MP is still really addictive. Argh. ^^

Except you have "career" multiplayer people (ie. people under 25 without jobs).

I go into a quickmatch for bronze, and there's people with 80+ total with level 18+ toons, and sometimes they'll kick you because you're not high enough.

IT'S F---ING BRONZE. HELLO? I don't play games 10 hours a day, and most of MY time with ME3 is just single player.

Play any Halo game at least ONCE, Bioware.

I do agree that there should be a minimum level for hosting or joining PUBLIC silver gold games. Or at least a way to filter player levels for the host. So a host could say accepting only players level 15+ or no players level 10- something like that.

There already is a penalty for quitting early. You don't get any rewards.
