I had a similar problem with my 550m, and cranking the shaders and cinematic lights in the config program made it look much better.

Okay, here's another problem. Some strange squares along the armor.

I've got the same horrible problem with shadows on textures (both on backgrounds and NPCs) and I just had to stop playing because it is ruining the game. My Graphics card is a Radeon mobility HD 4650.
Playing on the following config and had no issues of this sort with ME1 and ME2...
HP Pavilion DV7-2185DX, CPU Intel Core 2 Quad Q9000 / 2 GHz, Windows 7 X64, 6GB RAM (800MHz DDR2), Graphics card: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650 (1 Gig of DDR3 RAM)

There is a confirmation (of sorts) that the face import issue is being/has been taken care of, could we please get a heads up if the problems described here are considered an issue and will be addressed in the oncoming patch?

Thank you.

(edit: proofread your post first, dangit:pinched:)

Nvidia has the solution, you need to buy GTX 680, probably 3 of them in SLI.

Oh and drink more Ovaltine!

Ashii6:  Yeah, I have the same problem on the armor.

For Thomas Abram:   It's been a month since you replied to this thread.    Any progress or information would sincerely be appreciated.   Thank you sir.

What exactly did you do to make it look better ?

I think at this point BioWare probably thinks that it's too expensive for them to fix a major glitch in their game and crosses fingers that it quietly goes away without ever officially addressing this. Can't explain months of silence any other way.

Tobey, unfortunately, I have to agree with you.  It appears they don't care about PC players.  I'm very disappointed with this game.

@DieVarieties
He was originally replying to this thread as it was an issue noticed in demo, as we can all see it carried over regardless and had no 'help' since.

The Bioware tech support seems to consist of players helping each other out, and bioware doing nothing. Least they can do is tell us they are looking into the issues, whether this issue or others, all they seem to do is tell us that they are doing 'something' but it will be a while because they cooperate with the console makers and publishers. In other words we likely won't get any help from bioware as they are to busy blaming or saying they'll do 'something' (as specific as it gets) rather than actually doing it.

Well, seeing as this has not been reported en masse, I also doubt it´ll be addressed.

Just finished my ME2 run and will start ME3 in earnest. If it becomes too unbearable, I´ll live with the washed-out view and turn off dof. Maybe down the line someone will come up with a shader fix similar to ME2.

I STILL hope for an official fix though...eh, what a romantic.

I'm currently doing another playthough this time with the DOF turned off.  My system comes with a built-in mode that allows to toggle various types of visuals such as "Normal," "Gamma Correction,"  "Soft Mode,"  "Vivid Mode," and "Cinematic Mode."

Top screenshot is DOF turned on which is standard for the game.  Arrows point to the bleeding/banding of the shaders that can be seen on the Normady.

Next is the same for comparison but with the DOF turned off and with "Cinematic" mode applied.   Granted, it's not perfect but somewhat better than what is seen in the top screenshot.

The next 3 screenshots of EDI and Shepard are again with DOF turned off and cinematic mode applied.

Again, I stress this is NOT a solution and still needs to be addressed by the dev. team for fixing in a future patch.

It fades smoothly to black on my display. I don't see any issues there.

Yeah I have the same issue DieVarieties has, pixellated blurry black mess.
Turning Depth of Field off gets rid of it but as everybody said here, the graphics quality take a hit.
And I installed the new patch 1.01 and it still doesn't fix the problem.
At least I could import my Shep face from ME2 though now...

The patch seems to have made the graphics worse, of all things, though the face import works. Balance must be preserved in the Universe?
Might upload some comparisons later.

Pixels, pixels everywhere... As I´ve heard, when I do a fresh install, I get the 1.00 only, not 1.01?

So any chance we can get a response from Bioware regarding this. The problem still persists after the latest update, so clearly it hasn't been addressed yet.

See sig for specs.

Considering the amount of assistance we have had from Bioware i am guessing they are taking the god approach.

Bioware helps those who help themselves.
