One of the most common-sense features of cooperative games is that difficulty scales according to how many players are in the match. If a party contains only two people, the enemies will be less difficult or fewer in number than if there were four people in the match. Virtually every game I can name which features a cooperative mode has such a feature.
Mass Effect 3 does not appear to have such a feature. Whether I enter a bronze-level match on my own, or in a full party, the difficulty seems to always be the same. I find it impossible to make it past wave 5 or 6, even on the Bronze level, unless I am in a full party.
This concerns me. From what I understand, players need to finish these cooperative missions to capture areas. The number of areas captured will determine what ending the player gets, the degree of success being higher if more areas have been conquered. It does not seem possible to make it through all eleven waves unless you have a full party of competent and communicating teammates.
Does difficulty correlate with number of players?

No, it doesnt correlate, it is what it is.
With that being said...you dont *need* a full party to make it through all waves on Bronze. Some players can actually solo them now, and i can attest to being able to do it with just 2 people as well. As you level up, your skills improve, and you get better mods, making Bronze much much easier. Also, good strategy and tactics are developed over time as well.

No.
But Bronze is easily 2-mannable.

Yeah, bronze is fine with 2 people. I could probably solo bronze if there weren't any of those missions where you have to deactivate the 4 objectives. Having no one to watch your back on those makes it fairly difficult.
