I've been playing the ME3 Demo a lot in the past few days, and I've actually come around to enjoy multiplayer. I wasn't happy with hit's inclusion, but I'm glad to see it worked out well, and is really fun to play. Moreover, I was gratified to learn that while multiplayer will affect single player, you can still achieve the "Golden Ending" as it were, without ever touching multiplayer.

Now, my question is it possible to play multiplayer and have it NOT affect my single player campaign? I understand the MP is basically a short-cut for people who don't want to fully explore every sidequest/etc., which is fine. I prefer to play through the game fully, but I understand that's not for everyone. My point being, I'd still like to play multiplayer when ME3 ships, but I don't want it affecting my single player campaign (i.e. unlocking Galaxy At War stuff without me completing the requisite side quests.

No spoilers, please.

From my understanding, you can choose to "Promote" (import) a level 20 character into SP as part of your war assets affecting your Galactic readiness. So im guessing if you dont want to, you dont have to.

Somebody from Bioware tweeted that MP affects all single player saves, but the general assumption is that you will be able to select whether you want the support or not.

Can I import the same "War Asset" into more than one Comander Shepard.

What I mean is can both Mutale Shepard and Maxwell Shepard have (Luneth D'Sol Asari Adept) as their war asset?

I have no clue how it is going to all work out, just going by rumors and theories right now.

But, if i had to guess...id say no. For starters, MP has a Leaderboard, and your N7 rating is a combination of all your class levels combined. If you could use the same imports, then once all your classes were level 20, your N7 rating would be 120, and there really wouldnt be a point in having Leaderboards, since everyone would be 120 eventually.

However, it makes sense that once you import a level 20, you can start a new one from scratch (level 1), that way it gives you a new character to import to another Shepard, and those new levels will add to your N7 rating, that would aslo make more sense on the leaderboards...you can see who is leveling and importing the most toons.

Yes, that is the whole point of MP. It helps your war effort.
