These are the final results of the Grand ME3 Demo Review Survey conducted using Google Docs.

The graphs were produced by Google Docs, while I did some quick calculations to produce some average values for certain of the results. Let's take a look at them, one by one.

The data pool consists of 1345 entires, though that varies, as only the first question was required. (Activity)

1) How would you rate the demo overall?

Posted Image

Posted Image
Average: 76.8%

Interesting. Seems like a quite positive, but not extremelly positive score. It would seem that the community considered the demo satisfactory or decent, but not amazing.

2) What did you think of the gameplay?

Liked it, some things to think about here and there (rolling)
not bad
very good
Good but there are a few bugs
Good, but roll should be mapped to a seperate button.
BEST ****ING GAME EVER MADE HOLY ****!!!!
Excellent.
Sometimes cover didn't want to work but between the roll (which is responsive and fast), the weapons (which were satisfying to use, even that crap pistol!), and the music I thought it was pretty darn fun.I thought it was a MASSIVE improvement on the combat mechanics. The new moves fit each clas perfectly.
Excellent.
Very smooth and fun.
Often rolled when I wanted to exit cover, but oth [...]

This was the question that required an actually written paragraph. Not much to note here, there's nothing really significant.

3) And how would you rate the gameplay?

Posted Image

Posted Image
Average: 82.6%

The community seems to have perceived the gameplay as very good. That should be reassuring, seeing as there were many gloomy predictions about the gameplay of ME3. Those don't seem to have actually materialized.

4) How were the graphics (visual aesthetics)?

Average: 76.6%

The average value is definitely not extremelly high, but it is rather amusing to compare this score with the image the forums seem to be having of the visual aesthetics. No, guys, these are not the kind of graphics you'd expect from a game released in 2006. Get real.

5) How was the music ?

Average: 88.8%

This was the single highest score out of the results. Mansell, Hullick and co. seem to have done a great job. Neat.  Champagne for everyone. You are paying.

6) How was the audio?

Posted Image

Posted Image
Average: 85.6%

The audio component of the demo seems to have impressed, with the audio itself achieving the second highest score. Well done, Rob Blake and team. Who would have thought Canadian trash cans would end up inspiring the awesome Reaper sound we keep hearing over and over?

7) Did you select a default Shepard or did you make a custom one?

Posted Image

Sheploo Von Rapeface seems to be the victor so far. It'd be interesting to compare the stats of the demo with the stats of the game concerning this aspect.

8) What did you think of the Character Creator?

Posted Image

Posted Image

Average: 64.8%

I can't quite put my finger into how the CC got such a low score. Sure, it's above average, and it's definitely far from terrible, but I really liked it, personally. It offered what ME2 did, but with slightly more options, and generally better aesthetics.

9) Which class did you play?

Posted Image

The Soldier actually won the Vanguard by only 8 additional votes. Hah!

10) Which was your favorite class?

Posted Image

11) Which system did you play the demo with the most?

Posted Image

Yeah, you, who voted N64? We know who you are and where you live. What you dream of, in the dark, and what you fear in the light. What you- NINTENDO SIXTY FOOOOOOUUUUR

12) Which mode did you play under the most?

Posted Image

RPG Mode is the clear winner here, even though I am sure people did multiple playthroughs.

13) Who did you select as dead?

Posted Image

Let's admit it. We all thought that Kaidan would have died WAY more times.

14) Did you have Multiplayer Early Access?

Posted Image

I am actually surprised that so many people had early access. Hmm.

Very interesting results, funny to see most people played Soldier but Vanguard is the more favourited class. Also surprising to see that the majority are playing on PC but it's the Xbox that sold out quick - wonder how that works.

EDIT: Oh and the low score for CC I think is due to people being annoyed that their Sheps didn't look the same anymore. Beyond that it was definately an improvement from ME2 (plus I'm sure you can import your face and have it look exactly the same in the full game).

Very interesting read. Thanks Phaedon. As always being an amazing community member. =)

EDIT: I personally favoured the Infiltrator overall, however the Vanguard represented the best leap of all the classes from ME2 to ME3. Nova was just... awesome! As well as this I mostly played as a Custom Male Shep, it took some tweaking but I got an exact, partially improved, version of my Shepard. It just took some effort, I guess people were expecting the code system would work perfectly across the games.

That's easily explained. Everyone who voted in this poll had a PC, and many of those PCs could run the demo. Therefore, it is not surprising that most of the voters played the demo on the PC.

If ye say so, laddie.

The first one to scream "TYRANNY OF THE MAJORITY" gets a cookie. A virtual one.

I believe it is more likely that the participants within this study had realistic expectations of the demo.

No surprises except the low ps3 count, I expected low, but not that low!

Let them. I didn't touch the graphs at all, and can therefore just print+screen the statistical summary Google Docs produced.

Actually, it's a few points higher than I'd guessed.

Kaidan likes eating pies. That's why he's all over them.

So that's what kept him from rejoining me in ME2: the kitchen horror stories of Cerberus operations. I should have mentioned the provisions I'd picked up for Rupert.

This is now the most important thread we have. It's a huge counterpoint to all the negative feedback we've seen popping up.

These results suprise me. I would have thought less people got early access.

Kaidan survived because I was roleplaying a military man. He's an officer with Biotics, and Ash is a grunt with no special skills.

Agreed. However I expect people will disagree and complain.

For me it was because Ashley was a bit too ignorant for me. =P

Now THIS is what fan forums are for, excellent work.

Confirms what I thought, that the trolls are running amok spamming negative threads.

No it isn't. The negative feedback is still valid even if it's in the minority.

He survived my main playthrough because I'm going for a relatively tragic style. He started a romance with Ash but lost her to Virmire. That and it's easy to explain away in-game since Kaidan is by the bomb and such.

Ash is actually one of my preferred romance options, but I couldn't resist le drama! of it all this time.
