What was the purpose of posting the thumbnail of the cover of a game which you personally didn't enjoy, but others did?EpicBoot2daFace wrote...

Was it to feel superior for playing a different kind of video game? Or just to bump the thread?
Because if it's the second, I'm much obliged.

If we can debate valid criticisms more reasonably they'd end up being taken more seriously anyway.

Still the second best COD game to date. Doubt you even played it though.

But I couldn't give the demo a high score because
- Couldn't mod weapons
- Couldn't use any of the upgrades
- It barely had any dialogue
- Couldn't really test out jobs because of all the weapons they piled on you
If I was rating it on just the combat, which was pretty much all the demo was about, maybe. But since combat is secondary to me, the demo didn't offer me anything I wanted to see. Thus I gave it a lower score.

Liked it, some things to think about here and there (rolling)
Good, but roll should be mapped to a seperate button.
Sometimes cover didn't want to work but between the roll (which is responsive and fast), the weapons (which were satisfying to use, even that crap pistol!), and the music I thought it was pretty darn fun.I thought it was a MASSIVE improvement on the combat mechanics. The new moves fit each clas perfectly.
Often rolled when I wanted to exit cover, but oth [...]
I would like to take this even further and say that dodge/roll, sprint, cover and interact all need a separate button. It's really annoying that after you biotic charged and punched an Atlas in the face and you want to run away you'll have to be really careful not to get to close to walls because otherwise Shepard takes "cover" against it and get ripped apart because he's standing still.

After Black Ops and MW3, I'm really starting to miss MW2's multiplayer. Even though it had quickscopers, marathon+lightweight+commando knifers, and the one-man army noobtubers (for whom there is a very special circle of hell reserved) I found the MP to be genuinely excellent. It doesn't deserve all the hate it gets.BatmanPWNS wrote...

Kaidan survived because I was roleplaying a military man. He's an officer with Biotics, and Ash is a grunt with no special skills.
For me it was because Ashley was a bit too ignorant for me. =P

Very surprising that so many people played the game on PC, yet so many gave high scores for the graphics.
The graphics ARE very good, they've done very well with the graphics engine, When i saw Wrex i was very impressed with the rendered detail.
It's just you CAN tell the high-res textures are missing, it's out of phase with the quality elsewhere and well, i think it's mainly that we know they exist and might not be released that gets peoples blood up.
I want to point out that if i had been scoring the demo as a stand-alone game i would have rated it leagues higher, i scored it badly because i expect alot, i'm not ashamed to say that i want alot from the finale, that might put some of the pooer ratings in perspective.
Overall i find i'm glad alot of poeple liked it, it makes me alittle more optimistic.

1) people hate Kaiden
2) some people are just malcontents who get a perverse sense of elitism from hating everything.
3) engineers are the lonesome kicker of the ME class system. They even have a special shoe and a helmet w one bar

For me, it's not that I hate Kaidan. It's just that leaving him on Virmire is convinient for avoiding the romance. I do have two playthroughs of my main Shepard, one where Ash lives and one where Kaidan lives.
And Engineers are the most underappreciated classes. My main is an Engineer and I love it.
For the demo itself, I enjoyed it. I didn't try to hold it too high or anything because I knew that it was not exactly what the game would be like. There has been changes to the game since the demo was made and the purpose of the demo was to only give a small glimpse into the world. Would I have liked to see more? Yes, but that's what the main game is for. The demo was to just whet peoples appetite.

No, it likely proves that most of the people playing this demo are male, not necessarily that they hate Kaidan.
I generally saved him every time although I do have one save with him dead that hasn't been played through ME2, and likely never will be unless ME3 inspires me to slog through it.
