Anyone else get this in a pack? Mine's up to level 2 and it just takes way too many shots( in my opinion) to kill someone. By the time the enemy is almost dead  my teammate will get my kill and ill end up with an assist.
Me2 this gun was boss. If i'm going to opt out for a super heavy gun i want it to be worth it like the Widow and Claymore.

It's extremely inaccurate, even compared with the Avenger (which did admittedly get a major boost), and it doesn't appear to do much more damage than it anyways. Also, it weighs a ton.

It appears to be good as a "suppression" weapon, as you can burst it into a crowd, and it's basically inaccurate enough to hit everything and cause a bunch of staggering. However, if you're carrying the thing, that's probably not what you want to be doing >.<

Have you tried it with Incendiary Ammo and AdrenRush? That often boosts its power a bit.
BioWare did say that a lot of weapons got nerfed. As long as I can get it back to its glory in Single Player, then i'll be fine with it.

I've tried it with adren rush but not with inferno ammo. I might try that next time. I've found out burst firing helps out a little if that. Hopefully Revenant X will have the damage we all desire.

From what I recall the Revenant in ME2 was inaccurate as all all hell before you bought the assault rifle accuracy upgrade. Perhaps with a Turian soldier and recoil/accuracy mods it'd start to pull its weight more? It does seem odd that it doesn't have noticeably higher damage than the Avenger though.

Since there's a bunch of new weapons it's likely the ME2 strongest weapons are no longer the strongest.

Oh that's not true Aqua - the Widow rips 'through' multiple targets and shields and... that ****s devastating. I can Snipe with the Claymore, its disturbing.

Revanant isn't AS heavy as the Claymore/Widow is so you have better charge times in general with that. Each hit staggers more then most guns so, like was stated above its good for that kinda thing. Stabilizer with a Scope can let you actually kill guys rather easily if you just focus on there chest.

So far, my favorite use for it - and I've used this thing non-stop for a day or so now, is on a Krogan. One awesome thing about that is the Krogan doesn't slow down when firing it, so you can hold the fire down while you 'jog up to' a target and finish it off with a heavy melee charge.

It's weird and doesn't help Shepard I guess but Krogan with just a Revanant is pretty sexy if you plan to get Rage a lot.

Good strategy until you miss a heavy melee... God that's agrivating :(

Just a question; where did you get the Revenant from? A Veteran or Recruit package?

It was overpowered in ME2, of course they nerfed it.

Revenant is good on Krogan as it doesn't require cooldowns hardly at all. Carnage is the only power that'll see regular use that would benefit from shorter cooldowns.

Can't see the gun being useful on any class but Soldiers however :/

You can get it in any pack, just your chances are greater in a veteran. It's a rare item.

I got the revenant in a pack used it once and didn't like it. To be honest I didn't even really like it in ME2 either. Luckily I got a mattock pretty soon after that.

Thanks. I figured as much. I keep getting goddamn Tempests from Veterans though. :pinched:

That's the main problem with all the guns.

They suck so everyone going to run around with carnifex spaming powers.
I honestly don't see why they are trying to "balance" things.
It's a pve game, just make everything good, there is ZERO reason weapons like the tempest were released in a public demo being the laughing stock of all weapons ever created.

I think each bullet does 1 damage? I mean seriously it's really pissing me off the more I think about it

Yea it's annoying. At least once it reaches level X it won't pop up anymore lol

I have a SMG Scope mod for it, making it like a Sniper rifle if you burst-fire. I guess, being an Engineer, it isn't too bad. I'm using it over the Mattock III more and more now, and i'm getting used to it. It's handy to have a lightweight long range anti-shield weapon alongside my scoped Phalanx II/Predator III.

How did people think it was OP? It had a huge ammo capacity sure but it was inaccurate with a fully moded AR scheme. The benefit was it's medium to slow fire right so you didn't waste ammunition as fast  as you  would for the Avenger or the burst.

The tempest is terribad. I have a scope on mine and it's next to impossible to keep the "crosshairs" on a target because it climbs like a mofo and it takes a whole clip to kill on guy. And I just keep getting them in veteran packs.

It's like the Revenant for SMGs, only it does less damage than the Locust. In other words: All recoil, no damage.

Yeah.
Some of these weapons are rather underpowered.

I have revenant, tempest, and phalanx. All 3 were rather "weak". before I got the caliber and scope for pistols I always used Predator. But now that I got my boosts and mods, its like a sniper rifle.

I tried doing rev runs on soldier - it is not bad. When you get ammo and rifle mods, and then get the accuracy mod, shooting from cover it is a lot more controllable, accurate and its pretty strong. With Adrenaline rush replenishing clips, you can shoot 120 or more bullets without reloading.
Its pretty badass for human soldiers.

I tried the mattock on humans and it just didnt have the feel of something that should be punishing. Mattock is still a beast, but it's more of a long range rifle than the in your face revenant.

I also tried tempest and the amount of bullets it has sort of made me like it. But it still slow. I dunno why SMGs are so bad. Why use SMG when pistols give you more firepower, are generally lighter and more accurate.
Tempest did not get me killed, I could just shoot all day long with the heat sink mods, 75 bullets and a chance of not costing a shot but it is still underwhelming, just like the SMG.

I guess these things become more needed on higher difficulties as suppressive weapons. On difficulties higher than bronze you sort of wish you had something that packs a punch rather than have 190% cooldown bonus when the centurians and phantoms come along...

Also I wonder if the protection bonuses are still in. Like do SMGs do better with shields?
Cos I think one couldn't care at all when you have a phalanx spam cannon 2 shotting centurions with shields when shot in the head.

I don't think anything got nerfed as bad as the Viper did, well except the Mattock.

It's too bad it never got a buff. Power creep really left this mediocre gun in the dust.
