I'd switch use, but maybe not roll/cover/sprint. But I can't see a good reason for not having an option.

And what Jenaimarre said.

It makes me wonder if they really played the pc version, it's quite clear the uni button is hard to work with from the get go. Sure I can adapt to the current layout but it's less than ideal.

Star wars TOR has separate skip chat, confirm chat choice buttons, why not this? Of course on the first play through I will be reading all the the text, but on the 3rd and 4th, I could care less what they have to say, but I still want to be able to make paragon/renegade decisions appropriately. Please fix this!

Universal key for use/sprint/cover is very annoying and I would also like to see these functions seperated to different key's, but at this point, since the game is already gold I doubt it will happen. Very sad, as I have had numerous issues with this, even in ME2, where taping the space key sometimes results in sheppard being on top of a table or other object and unable to get back down, necessitating the loading of a previous save to get back to playing the game. Maybe a future patch could rectify this, but I doubt it will be a priority if it has stayed as is till now.

It's close to ridiculous we even have to ask for this... I could've sworn I saw something about this subject in the confirmed features thread a long time ago. Something about actions like sprinting, rolling, taking cover being bound to different keys for the pc.

So yeah, fix it BioWare...

Bioware promises a lot of things they never deem us worthy enough to deliver.

Yes Use, cover, and sprint needs to be separated. Use should be bound to E and Cover to Q sprint is fine as the space since in most game it is jump. Squad mate are not in Multiplayer and can be moved to Z and C. F Should be Chat for Coop Multiplayer since it is next to movement keys. The object for PC / Keyboard players we need buttons that allows us to use the area to most efficient means necessary.

Doesn´t matter which key does what, since you can always reasign them. Just as long the differnet functions are seprated. For me ideal would be: Use = E, Sprint = Shift, Roll = doubletap Shift, cover = Space.

agree, except the roll key, i would prefer something like v or b...

The point is that the option should be there. They should be different functions that you can assign to different buttons or the same button if you want to.

Dear Bioware,

In the PC version the universal button is very frustrating to deal with.  I constantly find myself rolling when I want to stand or standing when I want to roll.  I also find myself rolling instead of running.

Would it be possible in the final realease to allow PC Gamers to separate these functions?

Sincerely,

A dedicated PC fan!

We console guys need sprint divorced from roll/cover as well.  It's almost worse for us, actually.  I'm so sick of the game just flipping me between cover when I'm trying to sprint forward (and all I'm doing is holding down A and forward L Stick), or when I'm trying to slide/stick in cover, all it does is roll me and pop me back up into enemy fire.

100% agreement.

At least sprint should have an extra-key/button.

The devs do not care, so it isn't going to happen. There were many requests - use different buttons for skipping dialogs and choosing answer in dialog, assigning different keys for Use, Sprint, Cover, etc for ME2, or for implementation in ME3. Look what we have now.

Gah, I would have loved both those options so much. Especially the first! Replaying through ME1 and ME2 means you WANT to skip dialogue, but sometimes Shepard's response wheel pops up before they finish talking and you end up selecting something you didn't mean to, with potentially disastrous results. (At the very least, choosing a neutral response so you miss out on Para/Rene points.)

They don't have to be completely separate - just roll, I'd prefer. Since being able to sprint to cover and automatically take it, then jump out and quickly sprint again is a GOOD THING. However, trying to get out of cover to move foward and only rolling from side to side like a nub is frustrating. I don't know how Garrus and Liara don't just give up on this Shepard who is clearly totally out to lunch.

It's most definitely stupid, but as long as it's moddable ala ME2 I'll manage. Iirc I disabled Ultra Magnetic Shepard and remapped sprint.

I agree the awesome button is the biggest annoyance for me so far.

I also agree that one button should not do everything, or even half a dozen things.

Yes, and adding on to this - Skip Conversation/Select Conversation options should not be binded to the same buttons too.

Space to do everything is bad. Jumping around and getting caught on walls when i'm trying to sprint is annoying
