Well if my mike wouldnt had died a good week ago i actually would do, even be nice (rather rare for my temper) as i agree on your statement Atomica

But, very very few actually do listen, in all the games i played, all the advice i gave, only very very few listened, ****ing hell i even answered questions no matter how stupid and rush to their positions to keep them alive oftentimes.

For example, bf3 recently, i was polite and friendly on text chat, explained some quirks of the game to prevent my team from getting spawnraped, from all the 20, 2 listened, and that only after i told them it gives more points

There is a reason i went from nice pro to elite douchebag, the reason is beginners that instead of wanting to get better rather ragequit with namecalling those that kept them alive and going

ps: iam dating a real newb to online gaming, but that one is willing to get better and master the toughest tactics, because he knows, in doing so the easy ways become cakewalks. So dont consider me the typical elite douchebag, because i get to that point because of random noobs

http://www.urbandict...b&defid=2568674
I have nohting against newbs, n00bs ****** me off

*edit* @nizzemancer, guess why i raged as well, the game where i lost equipment i was dropped straight into, no lobby
Any lobby i see without some people with good levels, i leave immediately, BUT THERES SO MANY!

I apologize, I came off as a douche and that wasn't my intention. You obviously are very fed up with having to support too many newbs (I do know the distinction between noob and newb, I chose to use newb here because these people aren't so much bad as simply inexperienced), and I do get annoyed at them too. I only meant to urge you to remain as patient as you can. If they don't listen, then play the match smart and try to get those in your squad who do listen to help you work their incompetency into your tactics. The same game that I mentioned actually had a level 20 Sentinel who thought he was Cowboy Curtis. He must have gotten downed a good dozen times, and he just kept moving out of position to do whatever the hell it was he felt like. The only way to deal is to make sure that you play as best you can, something I'm certain you do regardless, just like I do.

Things will even out in a few days, as people become more accustomed to the game. Until then, I reiterate that you need to have patience. It sounds derpish, I know, but there isn't really anything else to do. That sucks about the mic, though, since that's the only way to really ensure a higher success rate with randoms. There will inevitably be cavaliers, but they haven't been too much of a hindrance so far, so long as you make them understand that they won't be getting much help from you if it they're d***ing around. But hey, to be fair, I 've caught myself doing some pretty stupid things many a time. My high N7 level doesn't mean I don't screw up, so I can cut other people some slack, within reason.

I'm rambling again, so I'll just shut up now. I feel for ya, but I also feel for the new guys as well. If you happen to play on PC, I can run a few rounds with you and kill some Cerberus mooks - Origin ID is Estribo. That goes for anyone else reading this. Provided you give it your all and don't go out of your way to make the match a living hell, I'm a longsuffering guy with a penchant for talking your ears off with all the assorted tactics I've picked up over the last few days.

Edit: Forgot to mention BF3, since you had said it was a major factor in your agitation. It frustrates the living daylights out of me too, mostly because it's so competitive. Also, the huge number of players online and in a game at any given time does generally imply a higher amount of people unwilling to listen. I don't use my mic in BF3, nor do I think I ever will. 64 random players in an anonymous and chaotic setting is just too great a recipe for selfishness. God, I really do get angry over that game too much for my own good.

Okay, really shutting up now.:wizard:

Man I always feel good when I play with newbies.

Say "Okay guys, stick with me, we're gonna get through this!", they follow you? Man, when they comply, it's great. You feel like an action hero. A sergeant. I was playing around in bronze earlier, ended up on a team of levels 1-3. Told them to stick to me, they did! One didn't at the start, but after the squad came in to bail him, he fell in line.

I love spontaneous team dynamics like that. I love that big brother role. It's great.

"Guys, I'm gonna get behind the Atlas and get him to turn on me - when he does, unload!"

Isn't that great? That is the best feeling.

You can.... you can back out of a lobby that's full of low-level scrubs. Right? I mean, you can on 360. You can do that! It is something you can do.

Yepp for the measly sum of 80 MS points.

I have to agree. I had three Silver successes today and it was all with the same team of high level players that knew what they were doing and always had a variety in classes. That is when I feel comfortable using my equipment. Nothing worse than using equipment only to lose on Wave 2.

I'm glad there are some more capable players who feel this way.  I generally avoid multi-player games like Halo, Call of Duty, etc., because players like the OP are no fun for me.  (No offense, OP, since obviously there are quite a lot of players who play for the same reasons you do, but I'm just not one of them.)  I like to just go in and have a good time, sometimes doing well and sometimes not, and not being particularly fussed about equipment and stuff like that.

Anyway, it's always relaxing and fun to find a higher-level player who's patient and doesn't get upset when they find themselves with a bunch of noobs.  Thanks for making it a fun environment for people like me.  ^_^

I play Bronze for fun or if I'm playing with randoms. Sometimes I'll get lucky and find a good group of randoms that can do Silver like I did today.

I probably won't get a chance to beat Silver again unless someone from here invites me to a game. Otherwise I just stick to Bronze.

A level 1 can get away playing on Silver effectively. On Gold you can still be useful, but I wouldn't say effective. Just don't try to be the man or woman. Support even if you're a soldier cover fire, play medic, etc. Well you should do that stuff always, but if your low level and in gold make that your priority.

I went into silver on level one and did just fine.

Also had a team of three (all under 15) that got to wave 10 on gold before being horribly slaughtered.

It can be done.

Hey, it ain't no thing. I do it for selfish reasons, too: when I play that way, I enjoy myself more, and create more people who are willing to play that way.

That sense of comradery is great, and people at high skill levels get it easily with other people at high skill levels. It just takes a different mindset to get that same sense of comradery with people who are still learning the ropes.

But courtesy is really important, too. When new guys join and they work together as a team with a little encouragement, they shoudl be encouraged further. When a team loses, it's better that they don't feel frustrated. If they're encouraged and told they play excellently as a team, they're a lot more likely to remain good, courteous players even as their skills increase. Playing that way benefits the community on the whole.

played a silver with 2 lvl 3 characters and they not only pulled their own weight but we also managed to clear it so... yea...

that said BW's MP UI could at least be more forth coming about being able to choose difficulty, esp in a demo environment where some people (aka me) went in there without knowing a single thing (diffculty level? there's such thing? 4 games later... oh look slider!)

Great advice here, thanks! I will certainly stay the hell out of Silver & Gold (although now you've got me humming that holiday song from Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer). I'm not an experienced multi-playing shooter afficienado by a damn sight. No way, Jose!

I had a great time playing the ME3 multi-demo-thingy today, despite the four dozen times that I got wiped out in the first couple of minutes. I have managed to eke out a Level 5 Vanguard (Drell) and hope to keep plugging away, but it's super groovy & cool to get some friendly advice from the older hands; so that I can avoid ruining their chances in the demo by Grepthar's Hammer.

Good luck with that to all you awesomes!

I kick ME2's ass up and down the street like you wouldn't believe. Took me half a dozen tries to get through to the end of Bronze. I still haven't beaten Silver. Just haven't gotten a team that worked together that well yet.

Keep practicing. I promise it gets better, and there are plenty of nice folks to help you along.

OP, please can the testy attitude. This is a cooperative venture. If you lose some equipment it's no real end-of-the-world scenario.

Well, I just got Multi-Player today.. so I am a n00b technically.

And I just have to send out a big thank you to the OP: thank you for making me not want to play the MP for people who treat the n00bs badly for trying.
I salute you. /sarcasm c:

I NEVER use any one-mission equipments. Those are for wimps.

That said, On Silver I exit the lobby as long as I see 2 or more <4 Level players.

Aaaahh, fair enough. Sorry then. I just don't respond well to posts where people are like "all you ____ stop doing this". I think it's part of the reason multiplayer games aren't really for me. :P

oh i understand i am like that too but when you go in there and see a level 1 die  just as the team gets set and  see that level 1 die from the first shot  and being forced to keep reviveing them you intend to endanger the team by trying to keep him alive and playing with the team gets distracted by the revive the level 1 when we are trying to staay alive.

thing is on silver and gold if your under level 10 (for the most part asari adepts as long as you can stasis its all good but be level 8 or so) you JUST dont hit hard enough or have the HP to soak every thing thats being thrown at you
its not a matter of skill

I hope the full game has an N7 Rating Matchamking system. It would be nice to play with people of the same skill level.
