Spam Stasis on them and shoot them down.

Why is it that any time something is SLIGHTLY challenging to kil you claim it is overpowered whether it's an enemy OR you yourself! Jesus christ!

It's not that they're "slightly" challenging to kill, it's that they can kill you in the blink of an eye from any distance! Their barriers are tough, their stupid palm gun rips through your shields and health, god forbid you end up facing more than one (which is common on any difficulty that isn't easymode) in tight spaces.

Leave those poor phantoms alone, they are overhunted anyways :°(
Keep some bullets for raging Krogan mercenaries, cloaking Geth infiltrators and who knows what else will try to tear you apart on release day ;)

Phantoms are actually fun if challenging, engineers and turrets on the other hand are just cheap, but and engineer doesn't attract as much attention as a phantom or atlas.

Depend on the class/race combo I think, Asari Adeps tear them apart same with Vanguard spamer and Good Melee Krogan Soldier, Infiltrator stealth head shot kills them in one shoot to. Othere classes will have to work to kill one.

Concussive Shot can knock them over WITH Barriers, leaving them ripe for being destroyed.
Overload damages Barriers AND stuns them (Neural Shock - Rank 5) for a few moments, leaving them ripe for a few bullets.
Stasis stops them altogether.
Biotic Charge > Nova > Nova > Biotic Charge rapes them leaving them zero chance to even fire their cannon.
Good Infiltrator's can get Headshots on Phantoms leaving them severely weakened.
Singularity can also leave Phantoms as cannon fodder.
Krogan can Heavy Melee Phantoms easily.
And to provide the most obvious solution I will quote Jacob: "Bullets Can"

Seriously whilst using Powers does make it tenfold quicker a good player should be able to take them out at range using bullets. They can't fire there cannon whilst flipping PLUS you can easily trace their movements if you have decent concentration. Honestly I lost track of how many Phantoms I have decimated as my Level 17 Human Vanguard, Level 20 Asari Adepts, Level 8 Human Soldierm, Level 12 Turian Sentinel and Level 13 Infiltrator. Christ just learn how to play the game instead of ****ing for nerfs. Without Phantoms there would literally be NO challenge in Multiplayer outside of the INCREDIBLY SLOW Atlas and the "Don't have to kill them anyways" Turrets...

If you work as a team they're not very tough. Even alone if you're good enough you can take them down.

I find that on my Sentinel, an Overload and a few blasts from the shotgun will see them off. Just don't get TOO close.

I solo phantoms on silver -_-

Engineer, Vanguard, Soldier, Infiltrator, Adept. I don't really play Sentinel.

You just have to figure out your strategy with each class.

Yeah, I can solo phantoms on silver with my Human Adept and my Vanguard, not really playing with anything else though.

I'm tempted to suggest that overload should be in every squad in some form..... once you have one overload, bam, you can take that barrier down straight away (and even stun her with the neural shock evolution). Killing her after that is simple.

Overload is just a great skill to have for any situation. I took the neural shock evolution on my turian sentinel and it is almost the only skill I use.

If you compare the kill statistics of phantoms -> players and players -> phantoms, i think the players should be nerfed.

I do think they are really strong but I also feel they are way to cheap.

Their hand cannon thing is absolutely way to powerful able to kill a soldier in half a second. They can use it while moving and give no animation to show that they are going to shoot and their hand doesn't flash when the shoot so it is impossible to predict or tell if you are going to be hit or are being hit.

If they only shot while standing still that would be logical and fair.

Their high health, fast speed, invis and brutal swords are fine though.

I, on Bronze, have never been able to kill a Phantom. This is in a complete group of four.

Now, I can easily predict in the future that people will be complaining this in the single player campaign, albeit slighty nerfed.

Please, please tell me their one-hit-kill stab attack won't be present in Single Player.

Edit: And before you question my skill, I've beaten Mass Effect 2 on Insanity several times easily.

Stasis, Krogan Melee, Grenades, Shotguns or a Sniper to the head are your friends. Image IPB

Phantom's are very, very easy to kill if you are asari adept, or human vanguard. For adept stasis + 2 headshots from my carnifax and they are dead. Vanguard can just charge + nova them a couple of times.

I really do agree with the OP. Yeah but only in those situations when a glitch happens and phantoms (tried it on four of them) decide that they don't want to go on stasis at all. So I'm just throwing my bubbles all over of them and watch when my team is slaughtered in front of my eyes. That was on gold wave 10 almost done... Normally they are just a bit challenging in a good manner. I mean c'mon none of us want the game to be too easy

Phantoms aren't really that bad. The real problem is that the one-hit-kill stab ends up happening in situations when it shouldn't, once lag is added in. So you get phantoms OHKing while they're meant to be stunned from something, or while they're still apparently 5 metres away.
I think removing the one-hit-kill stab wouldn't hurt.

I haven't had much luck trying to heavy melee Phantoms on my Krogan Soldier. At least, not without taking down their Barriers first, since they don't seem to get stunned if you charge them while their Barriers are still up. My usual strategy against them is to use a Claymore shot on them to strip the barriers, then immediately follow it up with a Heavy Melee to kill them. If you miss, however, or if you lag, then you're basically a sitting duck for their one-hit melee kill.

From watching others fight them, Stasis + Sniper rifles take Phantoms down extremely easily. Vanguards can also use Biotic Charge + Nova/Heavy Melee to take them out. On my Turian Sentinel, I use Overload to strip their Barriers which sends them scurrying for cover. I then follow it up with a headshot from my Mantis to take them out.

They aren't easy, but I love them. TBH I worry Bronze is too easy (most people have a rocket waiting for the Atlas, for example) so I like the spike in challenge that happens when Phantoms show up. They aren't so bad, just have to be careful or work together to take her down.

Also, if you upgrade the Infiltrator cloak, you can also get a melee bonus, I once killed a Phantom by cloaking, then heavy melee. However, the Phantom had already taken some punishment, so, I can't OHK them when they have full barriers.

Bronze is difficult enough for the lowest challenge rating, IMO. You still die if you don't pay attention and groups routinely don't make it to or through wave ten. Sure, a full team of level 20's ( or 10+ ) seldomly fails, but it happens. Especially when people run black ninja style into a turret or two.

phantoms are cake if you keep using skills to lower their barriers, then use matock to HS them constantly.
they seem to stop shooting you or miss a lot if you keep hitting them.
problem is when you have to face 4 or 5 of them along with 2-3 atlas in silver or gold at same time.
