Phantoms are way too overpowered.

Charge+Heavy Melee+Scimitar doesn't even give them a chance to do anything on bronze.

They don't appear to "catch" biotics. It's just that they roll, jump and dodge a lot, and the game engine makes most abilities miss when that happens.

There are plenty of good ways to take down Phantoms. Easiest way is having an Asari cast stasis on them. Shoot them a few times and then detonate the stasis with a throw. Done.

Vanguards with low enough cooldown on charge can basically stunlock them between than and their other abilities.

Several class/race combos have overload; that takes care of the barrier, and the Salarian infiltrator's energy drain does the same thing.

Automatic weapons fire will keep them dodging rather than approaching you (although on higher difficulties, this isn't ideal either because even at a distance, the phantom's palm blaster does a lot of damage).

Concussive shot...always works. I haven't missed yet, but it's best to folow up with a clip from your AR in their face before they get up again.

Thanks for the tip. I haven't played a soldier yet. I'm guessing Concussive shot is an instant hit ability, much like Overload, and Stasis?

If you have an Asari adept, dump points into stasis ASAP. You'll be able to lock Phantoms down and get more precise shots on them. Then level up Asari Justicar and Warp for better cool downs and a highly effective biotic combo.

1. Keep your distance. 2. Gain a few levels, it makes a difference.

Charge and stasis will do just fine. No problem on Bronze and Silver. You just need to keep calm, play as a team, and know which to focus, when to run. That's all.

I only have problems with them if I get pinned down and can't change cover. Turret drops covering the phantoms ass is usually the scenario on the occasion that happens.

Ohohohohohoho...

OP, you are yet to feel the epic rage that is Gold.

Phantom, after Phantom, after Phantom, rinse and repeat. Oh, and throw in Atlases galore to boot.

Kidding aside, you need to communicate and stay close to take them down. Stasis, Overload, Charge, etc are very effective at locking them down. Stay out of cover when fighting them, as this definitely triggers the instakill animation. Although, this attack happens randomly regardless. Some times, it will seem like it never triggers, other times she'll instagib you over and over. I hate it just as much as you, but it is what it is. Again, stay together and focus fire.

Op you need to level up first. When you are a single digit level they can be a challenge.

I just spam Warp with my Adept or go berserk with headbutts with my Krogan Soldier.

Man, I love fighting these damn things. Evil biotic ninjas? I can get behind that.

They represent the perfect threat level, too. They're like Atlases: yeah, they get me with a OHKO from time to time, but it's only when I get stupid and careless near the end of a round. I like getting in their faces and fighting them hard when I roll Vanguard. All I have right now is the Scimitar, and it lets me keep them dodging.

And, fun fact: you can Charge the Hell out of them when they're Cloaked.

Other classes might have more of a problem, but I think it's only a problem in the sense of needing to approach the problem differently. Each class, I'm sure, is able to fight Phantoms as effectively as the Vanguard. Every single one of these classes is very powerful and full of options.

Only time they're more of a problem is when they're there alongside some Guardians. THen I have to lure them across the whole damn map, Charge the Guardians, and take them out before the Phantom gets back.

Phantoms do die very quickly once you drop their barrier. And when you see them, they are top priority target on the field. Keep suppressive fire on them to keep them from stealthing away.

Just use warp, reave or overload.

Bah, killing them is easy. It's staying away from their one hit kill while other troops surround you. That's the problem.

I usually charge them, then use nova, then the biotic punch, then shotgun. If it isn't dead yet, I would charge another enemy to get my barrier back up, and let my team kill the unshielded phantom, while I do the peanut butter jelly dance.

The only time you should really be afraid of phantoms is if it's one on one after everyone died or they're across the map. If everyone focuses on them they can usually be taken down pretty quickly.

There are many tactics against them both single and group you just need to find one which works for you. I like overload, freeze, stasis, cloak-snipe, and so on. All classes have power that can match with the Phantom. Except for the soldier class. Soldier class is the weakest class in ME3.

They're hard, but still manageable without any specific strategy. I just shoot them to death.

Cloak, set the intent of your scope to her temple, and enjoy an easy victory.

"Phantoms", that Ben Affleck movie, is a more dire threat than those cartwheeling hobags.

Vanguard. 'Nuff said.

Seriously though they're okay just as they are. Big threat if you don't pay attention to them though. But it's like a freakin' ninja. So it should be like that.

There is nothing wrong with Phantoms, they are the perfect "Oh $*£%!" enemy and definitely killable. Warp, mid-distance, shotgun. Or whatever works best for you. I actually really like that Phantom's make you absolutely crap one, it's a good thing.

Lol what? Phantoms aren't that hard. Sure they can instant kill you, but you'd have to be an idiot to let them get into range. My Quarian Engineer just took one down with a few scimitar shotgun blasts, and an elbow to the face.

Asari adepts destroy phantoms. I have stasis maxed at the moment and as soon as I see a phantom I hit her with stasis then blast away with my gun.

They get me the odd time when I'm not paying full attention, and they certainly fill the "Oh S@*&" quota. I just love when I see one just think "Chill guys, I've got this" then charge the ever loving crap out of them.
