aye I was just throwing throw's on everything in statis in the last game I played on my sentinal, pitty you only get assists when you set off biotic explosions, not that I mind I suspect wave 8 on gold is how far ill ever get.

Phantoms defintely are slippery little fellows, and take a bit of strategy to take down. I remember one time i was with two others on my team, we were all charging into a Phantom but the thing just jumped over us and sliced us all repeatingly.

Luckly in the end i managed to get the bastard with my omni-blade.

The best way to beat Phantom is to offer her 2-3 bottles of moonshine, She'll go down quicker than she can kill anyone :)

Any character that has any type of electrical attack that can drain her shields quickly can take down a phantom easily. I'd say an Asari Adept and a Vanguard are probably the best people to solo a phantom, then a Salari Infiltrator and others.

I used to feel the same way, but then I realized how useful stun attacks are. The only thing that needs to be nerfed is their instant kill stab move. It shouldn't be able to be used during a stun period when you're trying to melee them.

Solo'd them on an Engineer, as long as they don't sneak up and stab me in the back they aren't too bad. Overload - Shield gone, Combat drone - Seeks it out and keeps him busy while I finish it off, sometimes even with a heavy melee, very satisfying.

An Asari Adept teamed up with any character with Overload will destroy Phantoms. Stasis freezes them, Overload drains their barriers, then everyone beats them to a bloody pulp.

Or you yell at the Krogan Soldier who charges in at the last moment and gets the kill.

I killed 2 Phantoms at Whitebase in the Catwalks behind the Dock. I charged at one, then shotgunned him in the head. The one behind it started doing it's warp shots at me for massive dmg. Release Fort and charged it, and got the kill before it could kill me. If you have a strong melee, you can get them before they get you. I'm really good at telling the animation for when they just stomach stab you.

However, on higher challenges, You really need Stasis or Nova because they hit as hard as turrets with that Warp bullet they shoot.

So you want them to be nerfed just because you, pardon me, suck? I've never had trouble killing them, even when fighting them by myself. They just require a good use of aim and powers.

people keep mentioning incinerate and overload...did i miss something? did they change the balance of ME?

Because last i checked.

Overload = shield killer
Warp = Barrier/armor killer
Incinerate = Armor killer

I think this is the problem with the ME armor/shield/barrier naming scheme.

Overload effectively takes out the barriers on phantoms as well as blue health cells listed as shield.

Warp takes out yellow health cells listed as armor, such as on an Atlas.

Overload now affects barriers (so does Energy Drain).

I came on here to whine about phantoms too!!

Of course there are ways to kill them, and some classes take them out easier.  But anyone kill them easily on  Silver or Gold level.  They kept destroying a decent squad of mine on Silver.  If you can get them, they still take too much attention, making it easy to be over-run.

My problems w/ them are how unbalanced they are:

They have strong barriers and lots of health.
They move fast and acrobatic.
They go invisible.
Instant kills.
AND to top it off, they have they stupid purple laser that takes your shields and so much health!!

My solution:
Take that stupid laser away.  I've been killed plenty by them sneaking up on me and just when you catch them, they blast away your shields.  Cerberus doesn't need a Ninja Superhero WITH a freaking laser.

I've never had trouble with Phantoms...they've only killed me twice. This one time it spawned right beside me outta nowhere and killed me and this other time I made the stupidest mistake of charging into one and THEN USING NOVA. I don't know what I was thinking...so basically my shields were down and she finished me off.

One time I got a lucky sticky grenade right on top of her head. Her barrier was already down, she did a one of those flips and struck that ninja pose, then popped in a haze of red goop. It was hilarious.

Anyway, don't make co-op any easier. Its right where it needs to be. Phantoms are a cool boss fight.

Actually Warp is more a general damage+debuff this time around, it's increases damage taken by the enemy and does a damage over time as well as panicing unprotected targets for a second or two. Overload is the go to anti-energy shield/barrier ability now, I've also seen it used on unprotected enemies as a stun.

Yes, I agree it's kinda OP, if you get too close and not careful u will be randomly stabbed, but even you back off, they still shoots u. Bronze is ok tho, there usually only one. Just reminded me that I tryna do solo on bronze but stabbed by a phantom at wave 10 T_T

For human Vanguards the Guardian is overpowered, but Phatoms are easy to kill. It's different for all sorts of different class/races.
