I cannot run the ME3 demo.  I get a 'physics engine failed to initialize' error every time I try.  I have tried everything listed on this site for fixing this issue and it has not helped.  I get the same error even if I disable PhysX......which is really strange.  Any ideas..........before I go out and waste $60.00 on the game?:crying:

So you've tried uninstalling any current Physx drivers and then installing the latest version from NVIDIA website? I don't know what you've done to try and fix it yet so I'm just pointing out the obvious first step.

Try using Driversweeper to remove the old Physx drivers (select only the Physx box) and then install the latest from:

http://www.nvidia.co...111-driver.html

I hope this helps out.

I had the same problem. Even with an ATI card, you'll need to install the Physx driver from nVidia. Their latest driver worked fine, though some people said it breaks old games. The game looks great, and I'm playing on a 30-inch monitor in 25x16 -- all setting on high. I'm not digging the fixed camera when I have so much screen real estate to see.

I did uninstall the old drivers and install the newest ones from the Nvidia site....then I started having the except_handle_4 error in msvcrt.dll. After much research, I found out that the driver install package puts, a Vista .dll on an XP system without notice and once this file is removed, the game attempts to start. Unfortunately, we now have the dreaded 'invalid license' error!

That lastest PhysX package works fine for me with my ATi card, both in ME3 and in DAO, I haven't noticed any problems in older games yet.

Update: The new PhysX and display drivers make ME2 not work.

I've tried everyting, and can't get the physics engine to initialize. This is really frustrating!

Okay, why the FRICK did my PhysX stop working? I guess because I installed few games with Desure they somehow screwed ME's Phys x since ME 2 doesn't work either.

Is it related to this problem I got from another thread?
"It seems to be somehow related to the install location of the Physx drivers. The version of Physx bundled with ME2 (edit here, probably DAO as well) installs itself to "[program directory]/AGEIA Technologies", while newer versions install to "[program directory]/NVIDIA Corporation/Physx Technology" (or something like that). Whatever idiot wrote the Physx part of ME2 seems to have hard-coded it to look in the AGEIA directory, and not look for the location via the registry.

Why spend $60 regardless? You can get it way cheaper from Amazon. I think it's down to about $30 right now.
