Am I alone here that agree with the 'randomness' in packs?

At first I wasn't too thrilled with it, but after spending hours in the beta I absolutely love the random packs as it's just like CCG booster packs. I love how it's a chase to get those rare items, and it's awesome to see people with those rares using them to their maximum effectiveness in a squad. I just unlocked the Krogan soldier today, and after seeing only one other player absolutely melee smash everything in a game, I had to check it out for myself. And yes, you can totally melee smash everything, such as one-bashing phantoms and even heavy attacking an atlas into destruction. I LOVE IT.

The great thing about the random packs for me is getting me to try classes and weapons I wouldn't have even thought about. My starter pack Salarian Infiltrator is an absolute blast now that I use him, I was just rolling with a male soldier initially. Like someone mentioned in the thread against the random packs, it's actually sticks to the lore and realism of receiving rationed supplies during this galactic war with the reapers, you never know what you'll get until you open the crate.

I'd like to be able to buy individual items (and/or more specific packs) - they can make the items more expensive for balance. Unlock a new alien character for 100k, maybe, for example.

I would be perfectly fine with it if I got an alien race every once and awhile... My N7 level is somewhere between 75-85 and I've bought dozens of veteran packs and I still only get humans and weapons....

I think it must be glitched or SOMETHING.

tbh I really don't mind it. I'm finding it pretty fun actually because its forcing me to try different classes and weapons. Something I probably would not do If I could pick my Asari adept straight away with a particular gun and mods.

Yeah. I would like to have the opportunity to buy specific unlock/ upgrades too. Maybe 10-20 times the package price?

OP - While you're not the only person you likes the this system as it is right now, I personally think it stinks in its present incarnation. The idea is basically good until you wind up having to grind and grind away w/o finding anything after a while.

I had free time this weekend myself so I could play MP a lot more than I normally would have time for, but having everything so insanely random just leads people to get frustrated more than happy when they finally get a special alien unlock.

edot - typos from being sleepy

Well i see you point, the packs can be frustrating for people who cant play it often. But when your able to just sit and play it alot its not actually a bad system. Anyways you need the stuff out of those packs for the D-pad stuff.

Also if anything drives me away from ME3 MP its going to be the EA servers because I cant get in a match unless i am playing with a friend or start it myself and it seems no one can join my matches despite me having it on public when i am only with one other friend. I love the MP and its randomness can be frustrating but like most things if your just patient your get what you want in due time. The packs wont drive me from playing MP its going to be the EA servers that seem to need some upgrading that will drive me to the point of so going "forget this, cant connect half the time and when i do it kicks me out"

I love opening booster packs and finding a holo, I mean uncommon. =P

It's one of the biggest reason to play again. I get so excited to see what I get!

Who cares if what you get isn't what you want... you will eventually.

This applies more to life in general, but it can be applied to games as well. Learning to enjoy what you already have is the key having a fulfilled and joyful life. Otherwise, you just sit and complain all day. // Just don't take it to the extreme and be lazy and stop achieving haha. =)

Work hard consistently and you will get there eventually, and the value of what you get will be much more valuable because of how you much worked to get it. It's why spoiled teenagers don't value anything.
Sorry for long life lessons haha.

Then the problem is not with the system itself, but the idea that you will be happy only when you get what you want at the time you want it.

You realize you can choose to be satisfied with what you have instead of blaming the system for not fulfilling your desires. Instead of focusing on what you desire at that moment and consistently waiting for it, focus on the positive aspects of the game. If you keep on focusing in what you don't have, then like you said, you will end up being more frustrated and tired, then happy. Funny... sounds like of like the self-fulling prophecy, but not really... haha

It's frustrating, but only until you get that one character or weapon you really want. It is a bit too random in the demo, the chances of getting something you want seem very slim for how much gametime you might have to put in, but I do like the idea of it in principle. When you get something you really want, it's a great feeling.

In the full game it's supposed to be much better. If it's not though, the system as it is could put alot of people off the game. Carrot on a stick is fine, but if there's no chance of getting that carrot, people will give up trying.

I like it just fine for all the other stuff, but because they were random, I wasn't sure if human male Vanguard was unlockable in demo or not. Sadly it is not. So if in fullgame its unlocked right away, I really won't mind the randomness.

Just hope maybe there is a third or fourth pack types that allow you at a chance of getting two rare item types so to speak rather than just veteran with only one chance of get a rare typed item.

I couldn't really care less, as long as I manage to unlock that damned Quarian Infiltrator!

i agree with it aswell, however it would be better if theyre was a higher probability of unlocking a race of the class you use most :)

I wish you could pick one character at the beginning.
A class, then any character from ones available, but then you have to do what you have to do now to get the rest.
