Hi Everyone,
Just thought I would post my observations after running a quick little test. It appears that utilizing the in-game anti-aliasing has a significant performance hit (which is often the case), but when you enable anti-aliasing in catalyst control center in conjunction with ME3's AA the fps is much more stable and smooth.
Have to say this is the first time I have ever seen enabling ccc anti-aliasing for increased performance, but i'm not complaining. For ME2 I took a pretty big hit when bumping ccc AA to 4x, but it runs practically identical to 2x in ME3. The only real fps hit I have consistantly noticed is when staring directly at the sun in both levels (not sure why, but meh).
Hope this helps for anyone suffering choppy framerate. Ati Mobility Radeon HD 4650.

Hmm.
Maybe ME 3 defaults to super-sampling?
Regardless, awesome. Thanks OP.

No, the gamersettings.ini config file refers to the setting as "Post processing AA", which can only mean one of two things -- full screen approximation antialiasing (FXAA) and morphological antialiasing (MLAA). Both are filters that take the complete image and try to detect and blur out any jagged edges. It's not super sampling AA. In fact, post-processing is supposed to be the least computationally expensive form of antialiasing, though also the least precise. I'd chalk the poor performance in the demo down to bad optimization that should be fixed in the retail game.
It also is probably why the "film grain" effect from the previous two games is gone, because the film grain was also a post-processing affect (the film grain is gone on the console versions as well, suggesting that they are using FXAA or MLAA too).
