I'm playing through Mass Effect again, on a different video card from the first time, and this time around I've been noticing that when the camera cuts to a new angle, the background textures take a very small fraction of a second to seem to "pop" into the appropriate level of detail. It's not a huge issue, but it gets pretty distracting once I've noticed it, because I keep watching for it while people are talking.  Any help you guys might be of would be appreciated. =]

  a.  Mass Effect 1(PC)

  b. Media: Steam Download

2.  System Details

  a. i7 950 (~3.07 GHz quad-core) with 12 GB of RAM

  b. 2 580 GTXs in SLI, driver version 290.53(beta drivers, but I've noticed the problem with recent stable ones as well)

  c. USB sound adapter.

  d. Windows 7 Professional 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601)

  e. Direct X 11

3.  Problem Details

  a.  Problem occurs in any dialogue situation when there's something more complex than a flat wall or something behind the characters, during camera angle changes. Textures snap into place with a delay just large enough to be noticeable every time. I can't imagine why it would do this with my hardware.

I have the same issue on cutscenes that the background pops in a few seconds into the start of the scene. The only way I have heard to cut or fix would be a faster HardDrive or a SSD HD for the game to run on.

Does that work? I'm actually going to try that. My main drive is an SSD, but I've been conserving space. One game won't hurt. Let ya know if it works.

Edit: As far as I can tell, this is helping. I haven't been back to the Presidium yet, but the problem seems to be cut down to just a tiny blip in shadows now. Thanks for the suggestion.
