I'm using a Steam copy of the game (according to the Config tool, ver. 1.02). I'm running Windows XP SP3 with DirectX 9.0c. My processor is Intel® Core™2 Duo CPU T9400  @ 2.53GHz. My Clock Speed is 2525 MHz and it has 2 GB RAM. My graphics card is a NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT with 512 MB VRAM; driver version is 266.58. Sound is Realtek HD Audio output with a Driver Version of 5.10.0.5832. Hopefully that's everything I needed to include.

Now, the game previously worked fine for me. I started playing last year during the summer and beat it along with some of the DLC. The last time I played it was in November. Now, since the third game is coming out, I bought the rest of the DLC and attempted to play it. The game will show up on my taskbar for a bit, and then crash with the following showing up:

I reinstalled the game, and got it back to the level of DLC I had before, but... it's still doing it. Is there any way to fix this? I really want to play Arrival, at the very least, before the third game comes out.

Ravene, you should be posting in the ME-3 forum. It is there where the only source for a fix (from Bioware / EA) might originate. This game is way past the point it will get any further patch.

BTA, past experience with nVIDIA drivers has suggested that a still older one, 258-something, is the last certain choice for this game or for ME-1.

So I should attempt to revert my driver to a previous version, then?

Ok, I don't know what the forum rules on double posting are, but this is still a really big problem.

I got my driver down to 258, and... the game ran fine! I installed all my DLC and then played through the Overlord DLC without any problems! That was a few days ago. I went to play tonight, and... exact same error as before. I haven't changed anything besides my driver, and this is really starting to bother me. Is there anything else I should do? I have no idea why it would come back after I fixed the problem...
