If people hate this game so much and go out of their way to post a billion comments about their dislikes.......why not just trade it in, get another game, and stop wasting everyone's time and their own energy.  If it was a truly crap game...I could understand it, but it is a great game and play it in the spirit for which it is intended......story driven RPG with an incredibly immersive world.

Kudos to the guys who make fabulous games like this and take so much crap from whiners!

p.s....If you don't like DLC don't buy it and shut up.

People who enjoy the game are actually busy playing it.

I'm quite certain that a Baldurs Gate forum wouldnt have been more positive than this one.

Overall this game rocks. Huge, excellent story telling, hardly any bugs.

Its ok to post negative feedback. Sometimes we can explain why something works the way it works and we can always listen and consider ideas for our future products. It would be nice if people weren't so aggressive though, but is seems there will always be people like that in anonymous forums.

I suppose.....constructive criticism is fine but I read a lot of garbage complaints and it wastes a lot of time to get to the meaningful posts.

It's always good for business when consumers provide constructive feedback, be it negative or otherwise. The problem is when this feedback presents as "wow bioware, i dont think u could have suked harder at balancin the classes." Providing comprehensive reasons and insights into precisely what is broken and why, however, should be encouraged. Nothing is ever perfect, and blinding ourselves to that fact ("trade in the game if you don't like it!") only impedes progress.

I can appreciate valid concerns and criticisms....I was mostly talking about the people who complain about everything and anything and seem to just spam the boards with ridiculous pointless dribble.  Trading it in only applies to those types who seem to hate everything about it.

What if we're aggressively complimentary?

*Throttles Gabochido* This is a great game, damn it!

True... sometimes I have to sift through a hundred topics complaining about the exact same thing. I wouldn't go as far as saying their complaints are not valid, just that they tend to flood the forum.

Respectful, articulate and sensible complaints might even help with patches, balancing and future games/DLC/add-ons, but there is always a percentage of people who will only be happy with an all spit-fest filled with hyperbolic statements which mean nothing ("This game is crap", "Worst ever", "I hate everything", "My mother didn't breastfeed me", "My 'sword' isn't really a long sword" etc.)

Unfortunately, it is like that in any kind of public business (music, movies, politics, sports, news...)
We can only hope that the developers won't lose the will to read such crap. I know I did in my line of work.

Maybe there should be a Constructive Feedback thread that is highly moderated.

the vast majority of people only come to forums to complain.

some people will come and sing the praises of the game, but not as many.

As an application developer I love constructive feedback. Key word being constructive.

I'm sure game developers tend to ignore the negative posters and try to pull out of quality feedback.

If I'm criticizing a game, it means I'm playing it and hope my comments might improve future games. When I don't really care about a game or I think it's awful, I don't visit its forums.

The forums do seem to have an overarcing tone of negativity. It got me wondering if we could have a forum specifically for those people who actually **enjoy** the game. We could then have some constructive conversations on gameplay, strategy, sharing of stories, etc. I don't visit the forums to hear people's petty complaints.

Like any of them posting would use it. They can't even use spoiler and tech support forums. Not to mention the mass amount of nonregistered, white-faced posters who sign up minutes before their first and only post, as if we didn't know it wasn't someone who already posts here under a different name.

Criticism is fine if it's constructive. As a poster and a reader on the forum....I find some comments quite enlightening and useful. And I am sure the developers can ignore the pointless annoying stuff.....it just makes it difficult for someone like your average player to sift through all the hate spam to find answers from the developers and to read the truly insightful comments.

The truth is that only the person who is starting the topic has to say something negative(or 2-3 more)while most of the people realy enjoy playing DAO.

Sadly that happens on the internet, where everyone can be a tough guy and hide behind his or her own PC screen.
Negative comments could always be useful, as long as they are constructive. It could potentially improve the game. (Which is what I had in mind when I made my 'one thing you dislike...' post).

In my experience, forum feedback is most of the time negative and not constructive. Especially in forums that does not require game registration and are full of teen pyrates.

That's something that has to do with anonimity and the fact that most of the people are lazy and do not like to discuss but comes to forum to show their anger/frustration.

Having said that, while I think that in terms of story/characters/setting/acting/cinematic/atmosphere/graphic DA:O is Bioware's masterpiece, I think that in terms of gameplay/ruleset/game system/levelling system/loot DA:O is far from perfect.

Not bad, but it really could be better. Mind I'm enjoying every second of it, but I still see the shortcomings. I don't know why but that's my feeling about the game.

So constructive criticism should be accepted and in my opinion is necessary to improve the future iterations of the game system and the game franchise (hoping that there will be a lot of them).
