Sounds fishy and what a very convenient answer.Frostaxt wrote...
Because I read it after I was done! Smart me am...
I finished my first time through at 41 hours with 66% of the game completed according to the codex. I did not finish everything obviously but explored most of the game. Thats why I am going through it again.
Why should I read a walkthrough before I play a game? It would spoil so much of the fun. After my first playthrough I get curious though what Imissed and check it out. I actually think most people do it like that. So nothing fishy or unusual about that imho.Grisson wrote...
26 Hours, 48 Minutes (On Nightmare),
Assassin/Duelist City Elf Rogue, 61% of Game complete, 91% of Game
Explored. Going through again now as Human Noble Warrior, Sword and
Board making different choices.
I'd post the same thing you did if I could, I went to my profile, all it has are my achievements no characters.
Well, would need to see prove for that....and probably even then I would doubt you played on nightmare, since monster killing took a long time for me even on "hard". Of course I would also doubt that it would have been your first playthrough and that you played without cheats.
*shrug* it was nightmare the whole way through, I used the player created respec mod to optimize my party better. That made a *huge* difference.

Last run was 39 hours. 93 % explored. Every characters dialog done, all of it. Side quests you name it. I respect those that can drag out longer then me. I just don't see what the hell I'm doing differently from everybody else. I'm not skipping content , thats for sure.

So far I'm up to like 80 hours, and I haven't completed the game yet.
I'm actually interested in knowing how fast someone could speed run Dragon Age.

But then why would I want to speed through such a great game in 30 hours?

That would be nice alright. Sten and Oghren are cool but man...I hate the fact they do not have Shield Wall.

@jebu: Looks like you took a shortcut most of the times, e.g.sacrificing Isolde instead of getting help from the circle, not going to prison, didn´t fight the high dragon, etc. Well that leaves a lot of things to do for a second playthrough though.
Yeah, I did what felt proper at the time. I hadn't been through Circle, and the dialogue option I chose said it would take too long to get their help. I left some things unexplored/untried on purpose, so I'd see new things on other characters.
I also tried not to read any info from the net while playing the first time, but the vague tooltips on abilities and the lack of transparency on combat mechanics forced me to seek out some answers. Oh well, still avoided bigger spoilers about the plot, but I would've liked to have enough information in-game to base my decisions on.

Well playing on easy or normal shortens the game significantly, in case you play on that difficulty. I also guess with every character dialogue done, you just mean your companions and not all the npc around Ferelden. Otherwise I can really not imagine how you can finish it in under 50 hours. Hmm or maybe your characters run faster then others?
Btw everyone who claimed that they finished under 30 hours (funny that all people claiming that, also claim it was on nightmare...) had no uploaded character to prove at least the playing time.
P.S.: Reloading time is not counted in my playthrough. With reloading (to see different outcomes of dialogues, because you died, etc.) I probably would have had 150hours+.

That's just it. I do everything. Side quests and npc dialog. My first ever run was on hard and all the others are on nightmare. Like I said I don't skip content in any way and I don't play in the easier settings. Which is why I'm confused. I guess I do run faster or something haha.

If you didn't use a walkthrough, how can you know you did everything possible?
Doesn't the game give a percent complete stat? That would tell you if you did everything possible.
My first playthrough on Normal took me 40 hours. I don't remember exactly, but I think I hit somewhere between 60 and 70 percent of the game.
