They've confirmed there will be more packs in the full game that will give a higher chance of getting the rarer items (such as characters).
Would be great!

Still sounds randomized, taking controll from the players. Not very satisfactory...BlueDemonX wrote...

Don't really mind the RNG bags. As Jarrett Lee said in the sticky right above this thread, the demo has roughly only HALF the available items to get from bags, so the vet bags in the live version should feel much more varied and rewarding.

I've been very disappointed in this aspect of the game as well. I have two accounts and in my first account I got a ton of unlocks but with one exception (drell vanguard) they were all human females and some were multiples unlocks for the same class (all human female). Yesterday I played on my other account for hours and I didn't get a single one. I've read how race unlocks are supposed to happen more often in the real multiplayer, but what is up with getting the same characters multiple times? They should add the ability to unlock races through gameplay aspects in addition to random unlocks. Like after completing so many levels in a particular class, you can have a choice of unlocking another character race or gender in that same class or another class. So that way players at least have a chance of getting the exact race they want. It would just make people want to play the game even more because this random stuff is absolutely NOT the reason why I continue to play the game.
Nah, it's not that bad at all. You get to choose any class, I'm almost certain. It's just that the races and such are unlockable. Furthermore, unlocking the Krogan sentinal doesn't mean you also get to play as the Krogan soldier.Nite77 wrote...
Let me guess, you start with human/soldier? Ergo - most of the people have already what they want and can just enjoy the game from the get-go and every unlock is just a bonus.

Seriously? This blew my mind. Just because MW3 has F***ing atrocious MP does not, in any way, make it ok for ANY OTHER GAME to have bad MP or MP mechanics. How about instead of randomly unlocking stuff, the store acutally, I don't know, functions as a store? Being able to purchase what you want when you want is far superior to buying a pack of random stuff you probably won't use.G3rman wrote...
Sure it can be a bit frustrating but what multiplayer isn't?
At least they are trying something not often used, it could have been a lot worse.

I haven't been able to play yet, since the server is unavailable all the time, but now I think I should quit already. I mean, really? Random? Is everything "unlocked" via RANDOM drops/buyables? Top that with that they can be duplicates and thus worthless? Really?
That's... that's... I dunno.. Maybe the worst decision in the whole history of recent games?
That is the single most unfair "reward" system EVER devised.
Let me guess, you start with human/soldier? Ergo - most of the people have already what they want and can just enjoy the game from the get-go and every unlock is just a bonus.
Ultertmarto above speaks my thoughts exactly. Why are novelty unlocks (races, colors) treated similarly to weapon unlocks. Why do we need to unlock cosmetic things in the first place. I'm all for pick-one-unlock-rest.
the quiet truth is, I suck with an assault rifle. If I'm "forced to enjoy" (THAT, my friends, is an oxymoron) playing with human/soldier, I simply won't. End of story. I don't enjoy running around with automatic weapons, I don't enjoy the human race, if the are alternatives. If I don't enjoy playing, I simply won't play. If I won't play, I won't buy. It really is simple as that.
By all means, unlocks are "essential", but they should be upgrades, equipment, weapons, mods, grenades, abilities, etc. But NOT races/classes. That's the single reason I HATED MW. "Forcing to enjoy" something that I really do not is really easy way to make me NOT to play.
Also, it is humongously unfair toward people who really enjoy the default choice versus people who don't. It is like, by default, I should get all released games free of charge, and most of you should pay. If you treat something as a "reward" and have a pre-determined default of one from the list, you are essentially rewarding a bunch of people without them needing to do ANYTHING to earn it, all the while make the rest "work" towards the "same" reward.
EDIT: WHAT? Are GENDERS really subject to unlocks? REALLY? That's it - canceling pre-order. I HATE, HATE, HATE that.
