1. Rolling/etc when I want to just leave cover. The only way I can see to leave cover is to hold move button backwards away from cover until I leave it then start moving to where I want. Needless to say I find myself getting shot in the middle of battle standing up idly after leaving most cover(unless i can/want to leap over it works fine).

2. OK so on the 2nd part of the demo you get a bunch of points to spend on abilities and I went Adept.... SUPPOSEDLY I AM SO ENCUMBERED MY POWERS ARE CONSTANTLY ON COOLDOWN AND THUS I CAN NEVER GET A COMBO OFF SINCE 15-20 SECONDS OF COOLDOWN IS WAY TOO MUCH. ON TOP OF THIS I CANNOT FIGURE OUT HOW TO DROP/REMOVE ITEMS TO BE LESS ENCUMBERED!! Am I missing how to equip/unequip stuff? i played both ME and ME2 a ton so I promise you Devs, many other players who are new to the franchise(or even returning in my case) will find this game  unfriendly.

The demo's a mess, no doubt. I only hope that it doesn't represent the final product.

Mass Effect 1 was epic.

Mass Effect 2 was even better.

I don't see why they would screw it all over with the third game if their goal is to take everything good from the two and apply it to the third game. It's a great stradegy. But why did this happen?

In the full game you will have the option of choosing your weapons and equipment so you can effect your cooldowns. This is some of those little RPG elements people screamed for in ME3 and now they have their crazy math and stats they are crying about it XD They tried to make all sides of the fandom happy and often this is the problem because in doing so it just increases the moaning from both sides. I think maybe in action mode or whatever it's called they don't have that element? I don't know i never tried it.,

I found rolling pretty useful after i grew used to it. There's a bit of a learning curve and it occasionally glitches out but who knows if that will improve in the full game. Once i figure out how it works it's pretty cool. Escaping from grenades and from enemies getting too close is much easier now..

My main problem here is they made it so if you chose Adept in the Demo, you cant make much use of your Biotic powers which is the main function of an Adept! Call it crying if it makes you feel better but I prefer to call it rage against stupidity. EA should have spotted this or at the very least explained it in the demo to assure new players their class was not useless durning normal play.

PS: Multiplayer is great so far.

What ever happened to the Tank you could drive around on planets on the first one?! it was epic and everyone I spoke with agreed they missed it in ME2. Hope they bring it back here in ME3.

I tried both the Adept and Soldier, as these are my usual characters. I hated the Adept as it stands as well. It was painfully bad. I found myself with a dinky little pistol trying to remain behind cover long enough to use one of my abilities. There was no hope for setting up a combo. It was much more a play style of active biotic power to wrestle enemy from cover/disable, shoot at said enemy or another enemy while waiting for cooldown. Repeat repeat. Biotic charge or whatever the dash is almost always leads to suicide in multiplier if cover is being cranky. When isn't cover being cranky? It's all bad in my book.

I've heard that you don't have to carry a full loadout of weapons in the actual game. The lighter your weapon load, the quicker your cooldowns. A lot of people have complained about how they made the second mission all but unplayable for power-heavy characters like adepts because they pretty much force you to pick up a full loadout and don't let you drop those weapons. In the regular game, that's not supposed to happen.

I found the opening mission to be very playable with my adept and had no problem setting up combos, but they only gave us two weapons to carry, too. I haven't gone through the second mission yet in the demo.

There's also the small issue that there are no sniper rifles in the demo making the infiltrator class pretty much unplayable, too. After all, most people play the infiltrator to snipe.

The point of this thread was to help EA/Bioware understand that a Demo should let you play/test characters out a bit so you get a feel for how they play. They failed here with the Adept and from what others say some other character classes as well.

Since Liara also has Biotics, I had no trouble experimenting with all the Adept combos.

Ew, not me. Everyone I know HATES the mako, me included. Not that I particularly love planet scanning either but I'd rather do that then drive around in that damn mako any day of the week.

I agree about the Demo being gun-heavy, but my biggest problem was different.

The glare.  Pass a window, all very bright white.  Also removes most of hair.  Can't see a skyscraper, a reaper, a cloud.....

You are stuck with 4 weapons and long cooldowns.

Again, you are a fanboi who misses the point of the thread. 20 seconds between combos is absurd as a higher level adept and in No Way represents the gameplay one will have.

Uh...okay. I don't have 20 seconds between my combos, but whatever. I must be playing the game wrong. Carry on.
