Well it's an unfortunate choice of comparison shots since the lighting in ME3's CC is much smoother and more gentle.

But I feel your pain. While the actual threedimensional features of my FemShpe remained the same in the demo, the texture changes - especially around the eyes - make her look very weird at times.
Add to that a couple of scenes with very hard lighting / strange facial animation / blotchy textures and ... let's say I'm not happy.

I hope those problems will be smoothed a bit in the full product. Would be a shame if our enjoyment of what otherwise looks like a fantastic game were to be deminished by this...

Yep agree on the comparison shots, didn't have time to get in-game comparisons where the lighting was more even. Regardles of whether the ME3 version is "better" than ME2, the one thing I know for certain is that the facial animations in ME2 were a lot smoother with my original. My ME3 Sheps face was gurning all over the place and I found it pretty distracting actually.

I hope that a true import rather than a face code rebuild will solve the discrepancy.

Hey guys, I need soemone elses eyes on this.

This is the same face code in ME3 demo:

Is it my eyes, or does the ME3 version look inferior to the ME2? My ME2 Shep looks more realistic, natural and I gotta say when I ran he through the opening levels of the demo, the ME3 face animations on the imported version were...well...pretty wierd.

My cannon MaleShep imported perfectly to ME2 with improvements, but this looks like its gone backwards in quality.

Anyone else finding the same or are my eyes just broken?

I think they look pretty close. I tried remaking my male shepard on ME3 demo and I had it pretty close and it still looked a lot more different than you fem shep does.

Yes, it's the eyes, but not your eyes.

This is why.

well i will say i prefer the hair in ME2.

Yes me too, its more natural.

I know she has a bit if a doll-like look but I knew I was going to play her as 100% Renegade and I liked the idea of a Barbie that could kick your arse :). Actually in game she didn't come across as doll like at all, especially as I didn't upgrade my medbay and kept her scars and red eyes. That was a lot to do with the quality of the facial animations, one of the main reasons I was disappointed with the face code transition.

I shall remain hopeful that a full import may yield smoother animations.

I deff like the eyes better going by his screenshot...ME2 his Shepard looks like she drank 10 pots of coffee, 4 redbulls, and 15 5 Hour Energies.

Aesthetically, ME3 is bland. Every complexion is matte, there appears to be zero secularity, the hair texture is flat -- look at the shadows on the hair, compare to ME2's which appears to have some variance and bump mapping. On top of that, the saturation as a whole seems to be a lot lower.

I'm willing to let this slide on the basis that the demo has lower resolution textures and lots of stuff cut. But if these issues aren't fixed, well, I'm not going to be a happy chappy. Can't get Shepotato to look rugged enough with the new CC tools. :(

OP, its called contrast. If you really want you can increase it in the display settings to get the same look. The reason why me3 looks different, is because ME2 shader code is badly written. Same reason you couldnt see anything in the dark areas. Shadow levels were off the scale. And seems like they fixed it in me3. Which is great. And yes, it looks more saturated, but then darker areas are not visible at all.

I guess both of us have bad eyes, because I'm seeing it the way you are. Although her skin looks less like plastic, she's less detailed, and she looks more bland (like the DA2 avatars). Her hair, eyebrows, eyelashes, makeup are not as well made. I think the eyebrows look drawn on. Even her natural lips aren't pink/red/purple with details anymore, they're basically just the same colour as her skin.

Also, to state the obvious, the hair is different. I'm not sure which I like more at this point.

In ME2, your Shep looks greasy with plastic hair and a pound of makeup.

In ME3, your Shep looks like she bought some skin cleaning pads, took a shower with real shampoo, and wiped off a lot of makeup.

ME3 improved her, in my opinion.

I dunno, I ran an almost stock male Shep in 1 and 2. Was kinda disappointed that the Marine High and tight haircut appears to be gone. No good at screen captures or I'd show ya how fugly the demo made him. If I'm going to make a Marine, gimme my proper haircut :P
