It does work.

Instructions as originally posted by krayzi here

1. Copy your Texmod exe into the folder where your MassEffect3Demo.exe is located
2. Rename your Texmod exe into MassEffect3Demo and the MassEffect3Demo into whatever name you please
3. Start Origin and click onto the Demo
4. Now it should load the Texmod exe
5. After that go back to your folder and change the name of your Texmod exe and Demo exe
6. Now go back to Texmod and browse the demo exe and run it

And here is the simplyfied solution ;)

Requirements:
- You have to copy the Texmod.exe to your Mass Effect 3 Folder as instructed in the original post!
- If your Mass Effect folder differs from mine /whicj is dose pretty
shure) you have to change the Path. Just remeber to add the     "     if
your path contain spaces.

Now:

1. Create a new Textfile (notepad) and open it
2. Add following lines:

@ECHO OFF
ECHO Run Mass Effect 3 with Texmod?
SET /P X=(Y)es or (N)o?
IF /I "%X%"=="Y" goto :Yes
IF /I "%X%"=="N" goto :No
GOTO END

:Yes
ren "D:\\Program Files (x86)\\Origin Games\\Mass Effect 3\\Binaries\\Win32\\MassEffect3.exe" "MassEffect3_tmp.exe
ren "D:\\Program Files (x86)\\Origin Games\\Mass Effect 3\\Binaries\\Win32\\Texmod.exe" "MassEffect3.exe"

ECHO Files renamed! Please start now your Mass Effect 3 in Origin.
PAUSE

ren "D:\\Program Files (x86)\\Origin Games\\Mass Effect 3\\Binaries\\Win32\\MassEffect3.exe" "Texmod.exe"
ren "D:\\Program Files (x86)\\Origin Games\\Mass Effect 3\\Binaries\\Win32\\MassEffect3_tmp.exe" "MassEffect3.exe"

ECHO Filenames restored! Now you can start Mass Effect 3 with use of TexMod.
PAUSE

GOTO END

:No

"D:\\Program Files (x86)\\Origin Games\\Mass Effect 3\\Binaries\\Win32\\MassEffect3.exe"

:END

3. Save your file, close it and rename the extension from ".txt" to ".bat"

4. Run your new created BATCH-File and follow the instructions.

5. Enjoy the game.

I have created this solution in about 10 Minutes and have only started the game and loaded a savegame so far. If you are in loggin mode and you have done everything right, after starting the game you should see the red Text in the upper left corner (if you activated the Infos in texmod) . So far i was able to browse through the textures so it should be working with actual changed textures aswell.

Edit:
Could someone please make shure, that this post is on a place where everyone who is intrested in Texmod find it quick

Is windows showing you the file extensions?? (mainly a Vista/7 thing that doesn't show file extensions by defauly). If not, open My Computer, click Organise -> Folder and Search Options -> View tab -> UN-tick the "Hide extensions for known file types" box and click OK. Should now be able to see the file extensions and change it from .txt (presumably) to .bat :happy:

Just wanted to point out a few things for anyone less technically savvy
-There's a dangling " on the first ren line, which causes the rename to fail (in my experience). Easy fix.
-The drive in this copy/paste edition is listed as D which I missed my first go round until I ran the bat file.

So, simply for convenience sake, here's an edited edition for standard C drives:

@ECHO OFF
ECHO Run Mass Effect 3 with Texmod?
SET /P X=(Y)es or (N)o?
IF /I "%X%"=="Y" goto :Yes
IF /I "%X%"=="N" goto :No
GOTO END

:Yes
ren "C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Origin Games\\Mass Effect 3\\Binaries\\Win32\\MassEffect3.exe" "MassEffect3_tmp.exe"
ren "C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Origin Games\\Mass Effect 3\\Binaries\\Win32\\Texmod.exe" "MassEffect3.exe"

ren "C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Origin Games\\Mass Effect 3\\Binaries\\Win32\\MassEffect3.exe" "Texmod.exe"

Isn't it easier to just delete Origin and install a crack?

Oh, no. I hope you won't beat me with that stick if you manage to remove it.

I was joking.

My point is, don't come to the developers forum to tell people hackthere games this way around there security.
