First things first: this idea is not mine. However, I am taking the liberty of re-posting it as a new topic, as I believe it is by far the best solution. The original post is here.

An idea!

When you approach a
wall shep lowers his gun..... so how about when there are no bad guys
and you are standing still have him/her lower their gun and free up the
camera.

No animations needed as its reusing an existing one and gives us a nice option for stopping and admiring the view!

Decent idea?

Yes! I think it is an excellent idea, and would only add that there should be a button for it, like there used to be for holstering. So you can lower your gun when you like, not just when you stand still with no enemies around.

Kudos to apoc_reg for suggesting this. Please Bioware, listen to his idea!

As far as I know, the Back button is basically useless this time around and might as well not be there.

It would be definite improvement over the current situation and something that could most likely be implemented across all platforms, but I'd nevertheless prefer to have actual holstering back, at least on PC.

If no holstering is possible, I support this.

I'm all for this. It's a unique idea and certainly gives us another option. But...

The game has already gone gold. What can we expect from BioWare now?

Perhaps the fix could be included in a patch down the road? That'd be my guess..

A lot of games have day 1 patches, ME3 doesn't have to be an exception.

It's a bold move but if it works, I'll take what I can get.

I'll quote someone here for the truth.

"Bioware, pull your heads out of your asses, yank the plug out of Shep's ass, have some respect for the previous two games and fix the animations. Thank you."

I would rather be able to holster my adept's weapons and go at the enemies barehanded... but I will agree this is a good idea.

I believe it can be patched in. Remember, the animations are there, and are being used by the game. What developers should do is give as the ability to lower the weapons ourselves (via a button press), and at the same time make the camera zoom out a bit (that is, make it the same as when you are aboard Normandy). They could do it, if they deem it worthy of ther time and effort. I hope they will!

Also, please refrain from using curse words. It will give Evil Chris Priestly an excuse to lock the thread. Thank you.

Not good enough, but if this is the best we can get. I'd take it.

If there will be no holster, then this is the best alternative I've read about.
