If Bioware was still a developer that cared about its customers, it would implement this in the very first patch.

Not if EA decides... Which I think is the case.

If Bioware do not listen to what customers want, i'm sorry to say this :crying:...  ME3 will be the last game that i will buy from them. Most of us accept Origin, even if we do not agree, but we still want Bioware to listen what we have to say, if they do not listen, nothing good will come out of this ...

Bioware has nothing to do with Origin. That's all EA.

But yeah, Bioware has 'lots of expectations to fill with Mass Effect 3.

I hope they are. That's why I still post in these forums. I believe they will hear the voice of reason and code in this option. I want to believe. :)

I hope so too. I still have a small shred of faith left.

I wonder: how came that no one at Bio came out with this idea, as the eaisiest, logical solution (it's their job), but a forum member? What are they doing in the Bio studio, sitting in a meeting, and telling:

(Bio meeting starts)

"[...] okay folks, problems with holstering, because no memory for it because the Kinect-stuff ate up the console memory- anybody have some ideas how to solve the problem? Be creative!"

(silence in the meeting room)

"Nah, meh.. I see no one cares... let's go drink some coffee instead, who cares about this thing, they will buy it anyway, we are not getting paid enuff for this b****t:-)"...

(Everyone leaves the meeting room and heads for the coffee shop)

[...]

Free months later:

(a forum member came up with a logical, do-able idea on his own, for free)

+1. At least that would have some credibility. Anyone who has ever carried a firearm knows for full well you cant have it in the weaver stance forever. Your arms tire up and you start shaking. If you do that, you cant hit a barn even if you are standing inside it.

Wow! This has my vote as well. If we cannot have holster because TPTB says no, can we at least get a lower weapon?

+1

Great idea, quite simple to make (i suppose), rather realistic. BUT this thread is late, i don't think BioWare's gonna make such fixes. Alas. May be they even won't look through this thread.

I support this 100%! Would prefer holstering myself, but if this is a compromise, I'd say it's a bloody good one..

It is a clear second best to the full holstering Mass 2 but I think its a lot better than what we have and I figured would be easier to put back in...

Also easier in terms of a mod maybe.

Devs themselves said no holstering due to memory limitation. So that one is almost certainly out. This is clearly the best compromise, and is doable. Whether Bioware will actually do it or not is another story.

I approve this thread. It's a feasible solution and as long as it allows us to see something we'll be fine.

Why not just do as it used to? Press the Back button. If that's a no go (didn't try it in demo), maybe Bioware can patch it to do that again.

Apparently there wasn't enough memory for it, so Bioware cut it out.

+1 for me :). Its not perfect (that would be full holstering obv.), but its better than nothing and I'll take what I can get.

First things first: this idea is not mine. However, I am taking the liberty of re-posting it as a new topic, as I believe it is by far the best solution. The original post is here.

An idea!

When you approach a
wall shep lowers his gun..... so how about when there are no bad guys
and you are standing still have him/her lower their gun and free up the
camera.

No animations needed as its reusing an existing one and gives us a nice option for stopping and admiring the view!

Decent idea?

Yes! I think it is an excellent idea, and would only add that there should be a button for it, like there used to be for holstering. So you can lower your gun when you like, not just when you stand still with no enemies around.

Kudos to apoc_reg for suggesting this. Please Bioware, listen to his idea!

I agree, it was the first thing that popped to my mind when no holstering was confirmed...
