Hi
I have always been able to play mass effect 2 with the addon content until a few days ago. Now I get:
"Communication with Mass Effect 2 server was interrupted or has timed out.
"
And it disables my addon content. I have checked a windows firewall allows the programs through. I am connected to the internet.

Me to you need to go to your ea account enter email and password you used to set up bioware account.

Just realised I've posted this in the ME3 forum instead of 2. Sorry!

Mine has been doing that for, hmm a year? Every time I start the game I get that message yet if I click connect and put in my details it connects just fine. Fortunately you don't need to log in for DLC to work if you have already logged in once already.

Solved it. I was getting the timeout message when starting the game. Then I had to click on Connect again. This then asked me for my EA details. Guy on EA chat didn't have a clue.
