Vanguard hate

Respect vanguards, we don't want you to rush and save us, we DO that, you clean the enemies first and save us only if you can.
Groups that have a vanguard fail because they are used to have the vanguard take all the pressure off their backs and when the vanguard is gone they ail fail to adapt to the harsher conditions.

Any good infiltrator should be killing enemies in one shot anyway.

Here's a clue. Don't risk yourself to get to me if I go down. Its a high risk/high reward class. Its not for everyone obviously.

This, so many times.
I jumped straight onto Vanguard when the demo went up & I've not even thought about looking back. Sure, I've seen some really bad Vanguards over the past 24 hours or so but I've seen some really bad Infiltrators, Sentinels, Adepts, Engineers & Soldiers too...
I guess I can understand why Vanguard gets some hate, "hurp derp this is a shooter, not melee!" but I find a lot of it is unwarranted. You shout & cry because I Charge into a pack on the far side of Firebase White? How about when I Charge onto a target that's about to execute your downed state, who nobody else would get to in time & revive you?
A good Vanguard knows exactly where to charge, shoot & heavy melee...
...I like to think I'm a good Vanguard :3.

Tbh I play a vangaurd atm in the demo and I kinda can see where people are coming from, some people who play them rush into a big group that's far away from the team and get downed crazy fast because they don't know what to do or just took to many on at once, also in the last wave when we need to go to the LZ some vangaurds refuse to and continue to charge people and risk dying. There are a ton of **** vangaurd players out there who do actually wipe groups, I did it a few times when i started the demo
Probably low-level Vanguards.
A good vanguard with proper skills in charge and either nova or shockwave can actualy do what you described and survive.
I know, I do it all the time in bronze and silver.
Especially in silver, where I can hold down an entire flank by myself while the rest of the group is focused (possibly overmuch) on a specific thing. (most likely an Atlas.) Then, if they're having trouble, charge in an assist in the mop-up.
It takes a bit to get used to the pace of a Vanguard, it's very frantic and you have to find your targets quickily. Especially after a Nova when you're vunlerable.
Keeping the enemies staggered while you thin their numbers is key, and there are various ways to do that depending on the situation.
In my experience though, Engineers(Especially their Turrets) and Phantoms should be top priorty targets, then small fry, then the more durable Centurions. Things like Guardians and Atlas you should focus on if there are no other targets.

Believe it or not, but constantly charging is how we stay alive. If my shields are gone, I am more likely to stay alive by charging into a group of 3 to get a full recharge on my shields, before making a hasty retreat to cover.
If I need to get clear of a hot situation and you have a single enemy next to you with only 1 bar of health left, hes my ticket out of there.

OP no just no. Vanguards are not essential to win a game. And from what I've read in your post I'm assuming you're one of those not so bright Vanguards who charge into a group of enemies at the start without support and dies often.rft wrote...

Nope, have no problem surviving all the waves.
Second only thing that screws me over are turrets, because my uber aoe nova doesn't
stun them.
Last, don't charge like an idiot, have an scope for a reason, charge all the way to the last enemy and screw them with a pincer attack, and if things get hairy charge out.

My thoughts exactly. I play a Soldier who relies on a sniper rifle more than any Infiltrator so I'm usually camped somewhere far away compared to a Vanguard who's in the heat of the moment. If it doesn't look like I can reach the Vanguard I'll provide sniper cover for another teammate to get him/her, but will not needlessly risk myself to revive someone who died in the first minute of the wave.Navasha wrote...
I love my Vanguard. For the people that hate playing with them... just don't revive us, if you can't get to us. Playing a vanguard is MY choice and the consequences that sometimes you might charge into a pack that you didn't see accidentally. There are times when a mistake will get me killed.

But, I agree that some Vanguards just don't know how and when to charge, so they keep dying..

You are the type of Soldier I love to play with. A vanguard can only be successful if they work as a team and stay with long range support.
And, to those who hate charging?? You have no idea what a Vanguard is. Charging IS their long range weapon. I only carry a shotgun in case things get messy after I charge into a fray.
If you are playing with a good Vanguard (me!) you will love them as part of your team. Also, you share experience so who gives a **** about number of kills. If you can survive the match EVERYONE WINS!!!

Nevertheless, this is just the minority for me. Most Vanguards I've encountered were extremly good team players and it is great fun to play with them.

Oh how I hate this kind of mindset. Especially in COOP games.
