Is this a joke?  If not, have you looked at the menu options under "graphics"???

That being said, calibrate your monitor and you won't have to worry about brightness.  If you have Windows Vista or 7, type in "calibration" in Windows Search after clicking the globe in the lower left.

Xbox 360 version, and I said more I know how to increase the brightness in the menu I just want to turn it up more.

I wont be buying the PC version for a little while.

Definitely agree with what people are saying here about the FOV. I had a mild headache after playing the demo for 1hr. Not keen to think what playing the full game is going to do to me.

It's a myth that you need to spend that type of money to play the latest games now or in the past. Costs are also down as tech has become cheaper to manufacture(bar some of the latest floods causing price rises

When Crisis first came out I dare you to tell me you could play it on high settings on anything that cost under $1000

Its not as bad as people make it out to be perhaps, but the fact is that even PC exclusives benefit from the consoles holding back everything. PC exclusives are much rarer than they used to be, lack of competition allows PC developers to not have to push their games as hard to be better than the others, they can spend less money to make games that are current with what major titles will look like because those major titles will release multi platform.

Tech overall is cheaper, Video Cards are not however considerably different in price than they were even eight years ago. Its video cards that would be most effected by the lack of console games, holding back graphics. You would not be able to coast by for years on a single gfx card like you can now and expect to be able to play major releases.

It's true. If games were made with the highest PC setting as standard then A: it would cost an absolute fortune to be a gamer, and B: The Devs would make a lot less money from even the PC market than they do now, simply because most people can't afford or simply don't want to be upgrading their rig every few months.

Back on topic:

I play on the PC and the FOV doesn't bother nearly as much in 3rd person games as it does in 1st person, but it wouldn't hurt to have the option.

not its not do not confuse GPU texture ram with CPU main ram it is NOT the same thing
most people have maybe 1GB of ram on the video card maybe 1.5GB there are only a few cards with 2+ GB on them
(sli xfire does not count as texture data has to be repeted for each GPU)

To be fair though that was because the game engine was horribly unoptimised.

I didn't like how the camera had moved in with Mass Effect 2 and the closer shift now with Mass Effect 3 really makes my eyes tired after just a little while.

I really do hope they add in an open to sift the FoV but I doubt they will.

But i do run all my games on high...

What you don't seem to understand is, that the reason you're able to buy a new PC and play games on their highest setting is because the requirements are stunted by the consolers. PC hardware evolves at a rediculous speed, so while you may have a PC that can run things on ultra now, that may not be the case in 6 months, if the PC hardware was the defining factor in how games are made.

Theres nothing wrong with being a harware enthusiast, my PC is no slouch, but to expect the software to meet the requirements of it is unrealistic, especially when you're using the system that generates the least amount of money for the devs.

That is an awful translation.

Fact: most people are unwilling or unable to invest more than a few hundred (read: around the price of an Xbox) into gaming, especially in this economy.  Most people that are gamers are either on consoles, or buy their computers from a manufacturer (rather than a homemade rig).  There may be a "lot of you" that have no issue with price, but you are vastly outnumbered by the people that do, they are also the people that usually don't go to internet forums and complain about the lack of graphical advancements.

I have no idea why BW thought it would be a good idea to pull the camera in so close. Shepard is way too big and the FOV is too narrow now. If they were trying to be more like a modern shooter that was the wrong way to go about it. Luckily I don't get sick from it but it's annoying. It's like the only way they could make combat more frenetic was to cut out the periphery, and drop adversaries where you cant see them, rather than improve AI.

i can tell you why they did it

Xbox 360

its a trick the 360 and PS3 dont have the power to run with high FoVs with out the game chugging along
by limiting the FoV/ have LARGE guns in FPS games it covers up the screen making for less of it that needs to be rendered and there by lowing the powered needed
and it was left in the PC another sign of a bad port it is FAR tighter then ME1 and tighter then even ME2

As I mentioned in another thread, basically another spoiled brat wanting the game fine tuned just for them. Remember, enemies are supposed to be able to sneak up on you, hence changing the FoV would be cheating...

wow...spoiled brat because someone gets ill while playing a game that has a 70degree FoV?

Grow up man.

I think all the OP was doing was asking for an option to widen it a bit so he/she wouldn't get nauseated from playing. If they don't, then they don't and some people just won't play the game. It's really not a big deal and has NOTHING to do with enemies "sneaking" up on you. It has everything to do with performance, frame-rate and simultaneous rendering or rendering what you can see.

Giving the player an option to go 60-70-80 wouldn't kill them and doesn't break game play. In the end though, it's their decision.

Changing the fov is not cheating. Console players really should not post when they have no idea what fov is to begin with.  FOV is a simply graphic slider you can put into options and something which could easily be put in by a couple of bioware devs.

the only spoiled brat around here is you there is nothing wrong with having a fov slider for pc because the fov at the moment is too small when your looking down site you can barley see anything that is why as another person said i used to holster my weapon as muh as i could but know they have taken  holstering away from us mass effect2 fov was really small and so is this one but they wont patch in a fov slider bioware would never do something like that for the pc  fans i was just recently playing alan wake and the devs there at remedy really cared what we wanted and listened and put it in with a patch bioware will never do this its never.

Apparently the FoV is just perfect in the game in the eyes of Bioware!

Yeah blame consoles.

This is a console game, ported to PC. Not a console game, and a PC game along side it.
