It really sucks if you're left with just the two of you, both Soldiers. Round 10 is impossible.

Give it time and you will see the quitting becoming less.

I have experienced lags that make playing the game more or less impossible unless you can use charge to move around (at the obvious enormous disadvantage whenever not charging!) or even falling through the level into the great nothing.
Now I don't know how that looks like to other players ingame, but I can only assume that it looks like as if they were just dead as some people had tried resurrecting me when I was off the grid somewhere beneath the actual map. I can understand people quitting at this point and it may look like a ragequit to the other players, so take it with a grain of salt.
On that notion, I have never quit a match, even when I fell through the grid at something like wave four, I get money and XP anyway when the match ends, being won or not, or so is my opinion at least.

Something similar happened to me today for the first (and hopefully last) time. At around wave 7 my human adept started glitching into walls, cover, the ground, etc. When I tried to move him I'd just appear on some random part of the map still glitching into everything around me. I couldn't do much of anything so I was just dead weight until the end of the mission after wave 10. It was bizzare.

Had something like that too once in a silver match. After a charge I was stuck on a wall and could no longer move other than to shuffle around.
... then came an Atlas around the corner
But I am a Vanguard at heart and wouldn't bite the curb just like that (least of all quit, mind you!) so I very nearly solo'ed that Atlas without help still stuck to the wall, ... took it down from full health to about a quarter armor left until a stray trooper joined in and took me down
But it was hell of a fight and I almost won, stuck on a wall my arse
I don't ragequit

It bothers me too, though, it bothers me also to have guys run around, knowing their the last one and we're all waiting on them, and they barely get anything done, only to die.
Having been the last guy a few times let me address a few things.
1) There's a lot of pressure when you're the only one keeping the team alive. You can't always take the risks of standing your ground to deal with enemies. And since all of them are now focused on you there's a lot of them to deal with. Not to mention any turrets that may still be in play.
2) The last character is getting feedback that you aren't getting in spectator mode. Like his/her screen being red, his sheilds being down and only having one bar of health between him and death.
3) These Last Man Standing situations usually take place in the later waves, which means we have combat engineers dropping turrets all over the damn place, turrets already all over the place, phantoms and nemisi sniping or stalking us, and the odd Atlas that is moving towards our location. Not to mention the centurions, guardians, and assault troopers that are converging on our position.
So, in short, maybe you should have played smarter so your teammate didn't have to do the job of four people.

It makes me wonder... Sometimes i end up with a team i really like, is it possible to add people to your friend list from somewhere in game?

i was lucky enough to get on a total of 3 teams and we completed missions. sadly though i wasnt fast enough to remember who they were

Sometimes it's not safe to come revive you, like when a turret killed you. Sometimes it's best to let your remaining teammates finish a wave and not take it personally.

Yeah but how? I believe you can't text in-game and many don't have a mic (I actually don't have one... well not plugged in)

I suspect some of the time it's not rage-quitting but disconnecting issues. Several times I've been downed (due mainly to lag) only then to disconnect while on the ground. The only "rage" happens when the disconnect thing pops up and I've just wasted 10+ minutes with no reward.
Had that twice, once I disconnected due to lack in the very damn last second (seriously, there was only one second left on the exfiltration timer!!!).
Half an hour worth of glorious silver wreckage for nothing. Bet I woke up some neighbours at that moment
