Human Female Vanguard - Anat Negev (after the Canaanite goddess of war and slaughter and the Negev Desert in Israel...which is also the last name of the guy who excavated the city I was writing a site report on that week for an archaeology class. Given her name, I think of her as Israeli)

Human Male Soldier - Lucullus Manius (after Lucius Licnius Lucullus, a general in the late Roman Republic, and the Roman nomen Manius, relating to the bright dawn or sunrise).

Asari Adept - Aella T'Xanas (I think you and I may have had the same idea on first names there, OP! I knew that Aella was one of the Amazons from Greek myth, and since the asari are based in-part on the ancient Greeks, I thought it was appropriate. That, and the fact that the name means "Whirlwind." Last name of course has the characteristic asari T-apostrophe, and then the "Xanas" comes from the villain in Code Lyoko. Yeah, I watched that show way back when. Ah, high school...)

I have a feeling you're right.  I'm a proud fan of FIM, but I'm not crazy enough to name my team after its characters.  I actually like mine to have names that sound realistic, if historically- and mythologically-inspired. I ike your list, it's well thought-out.  Switch around Rarity's and Fluttershy's classes, and that's my take on how the characters map to ME classes.

A lot of mine are inspired by various sci-fi. I'm waiting for people to figure out which characters and which series.

Ah, very nice - I love it when people take inspiration for names from various sources.  From what I can see in your list, I'm guesing "Korbin Falhae" comes from Korbin Dallas in The Fifth Element (I love that movie), and Ali'Zar vas Nostromo of course is referencing the ship from Alien.  I guess the quarians REALLY needed a ship badly if they were willing to accept that one!
