It does make a big difference to me, now all of a sudden I'm using the shortcuts. Much more intense.
Game doesn't pause when I press shift.. Bug?

If the game passed in multiplayer when you pressed shift that would negatively impact other players

The main thing that's annoying about it is that I can't use the directional keys to move, dodge, or roll while in that view.

Now if only it didn't keep removing the skills from my bar when I'm playing infiltrator, I wouldn't have to press shift to begin with!
