Thats why you need help a good Vanguard to take care of them.
Phantoms can't escape a Biotic Charge.

The problem is that there's 3/4 phantoms on wave, at same time...when you try to focus on taking one, there's 2 taking down one teammate lol

I think you will be better off having at least two people with instantaneous powers, such as stasis, overload, or energy drain.

An adept and a vanguard can make very short work of phantoms.

When I'm playing a soldier I can take a phantom if it's the only enemy around. When I'm on my vanguard it's a little more fun because i can be a lot more aggressive. Either way those things suck. It's far worse when you are in an unfilled group.

One phantom on the field is not that bad, as long as everyone's aware of its position, when you get more though... holy crap.

Wow you can get that high on gold i have yet to pass wave one. although that may be due to the fact that on xbox all people who want to try gold when i go to quick match are level 1's

Which is why I support tagging enemies. Knowing where Phantoms are on the field can mean the difference between success and failure.

as far as i could tell no but stasis is the only power that works against them

Biotics, overload, just about anything that strips barriers. They have an ability that can "dodge" your next attack, similar to how other enemies will roll out of the way. Now while all these things work, as others have said, nothing works better than a stasis bubble, and something really nice to detonate it with, like say, a vanguard.

Edit: Nearly forgot to give my grats to the OP, I've made it as far as 6 on gold with one rather good team, and even then the number of Atlas mechs and Phantoms, and GOD DAMN TURRETS -- I digress. It was getting silly :P

<3 Bioware for making something that on paper sounded like a marketing atempt at multiplayer and turning it into something awesomely addictive!

That's how i usually deal with them on my soldier. I have concussive shot w/ reduced recharge. Long as I'm not getting destroyed by other enemies 1 phantom isn't bad. First time i fought one though. Holy CRAP , I didn't even see it and it absolutely destroyed me.

One problem I've seen so far is that i've only ran into 2 PS3 players that use a voice chat so there is no communication. There was one battle where I ran into a room and it had an Atlas and a phantom. I popped my grenades, fired a concussive shot and got out of there. My group mates came running in and I was screaming at them to fall back. All 3 got slaughtered very quickly.  Flash forward to a few hours later, similar situation with 2 other people on voice chat we fell back a room, destroyed the phantom when it came through and dealt w/ the atlas no problem. I'm hoping more people use the voice chat when the actual game comes out.

Guys, it's not about killing phantoms, I can solo them as an Asari Adept, the problem is the share amount of them on the 9th and 10th waves. We got a instance where 3 members of our team where being chased by 2 phantoms each and 2 atlas on the main accesses, creating havoc while they were trying to escape the phantom's instant kill melee move.
It is insane in a way that makes insanity on ME2, looks like a walk in the park

At least you will be warmed up for ME3.

Originally I was only going to use the demo to get my eye in for ME3. Now I am almost looking forward to the MP more then the SP.

Yep, we've wiped on Wave 9 a few times now. Tough as balls, but fun as hell.
