Yes, these old posts are very cute indeed but you're failing to take into account the kinds of people who are saying them.

Yes. That is correct. But now let's go through more recent threads that want to bring back grabs for pyros, for example. All the crying over Typhoon nerfs. Krysae death. These don't come from n00bs, these are from peeps that have been around a while. Putting any of these back, will make the game even easier than it is now. Peeps want certain things fixed, but will never ask for any of these glitches or bugs be fixed. I'm looking at you warp, incendiary.

The basic strategy for soloing is the same for all 4 difficulties. AI enemies are AI enemies. I won't ven touch half the threads Air Quotes comes up with.

Lets see how 4 players, who are all n7 1, who have never played the MP before, and know nothing about the game, do in a bronze match.

It won't be pretty.

Hehe. OK, the game is a year out now. The chances that people are buying it, that have never played an ME game, is probably close to nil. Then you have to have all 4 of your assertions come together in one pug game.

I've come across several people that fit your exact description in the last week alone.

Most of them are sitting in Rio / Reaper / Plat lobbiesImage IPB

I just play with them now. Used to getting these to often to just keep leaving. Always happy when I see a Glacier come up.

They should offer up the old White and Glacier so at least there is a chance of getting into 3 different farming maps instead of just one.

Of course there are new people. But they are relatively few given the size of the player base. Especially on xbox

Easier than it is now, certainly, but most assuredly still harder than the game at release. Power creep works both ways.

I don't know, some of the threads he comes up with are valid. Although I miss his old avatars. Those were nice. I liked those.

The game is easier than it was at launch.  Period.  Yes, there have been some minor enemy buffs, and yes the players have more knowledge and skill now.  But look at what players have gained:

1.  New and awesome powers
2.  Gear
3.  Better Consumables
4.  Better Mods
5.  Better Guns
6.  Gold/Plat Shield Gate reduced from 100 percent to 75 percent
7.  Boss Headshots
8.  Buffs to many of the original characters passives, fitness and/or powers
9.  Buffs to original guns
10.  A majority of maps have higher grenade count boxes (huge for grenade users)
11.  More credits per match, on average, allowing people to unlock things faster
12.  Improved missiles (people forget the delay could often get you killed in a rough situation)
13.  Improved Thermal Packs, proper use with the auto reload and 100 percent damage bonus can turn the tide against a boss

I just can't think how anyone can look at that list, and not realize that players have far more power now than they did at launch, even if they had a max manifest at launch, or if they were starting fresh now.

You're only focusing on one side of the story.

To be quite frank, if one were to take any given gold veteran from today and give him an unmodified version of ME3MP and ask him to solo gold match, he/she would find it disgustingly, absurdly easy.

I duo'd bronze with a friend when I first started playing. It was hard and we didn't always win, but it was still fun. Keep at it.

Why?  What argument, with actual facts, can you present to make your case?

Most of the buffs in this game are on things a new player won't have. Look at the buffs, you have kits, weapons, and gear that take time to unlock in the random store. A lot of buffs like grenades take some practice to really get the most from. New players only have 2 of each consumable, no mods and only the base weapons and kits. So most of the buffs aren't going to affect them much.

Now look at the nerfs; Biotic explosions- reduced in radius and power. Sabotage - can't hack the living daylights out of all the Geth on the map. Geth are harder now across the board. Cerberus has one of it's biggest weaknesses covered with the dragoon. Reapers, which used to be the strongest faction, are now the weakest because of other groups buffing. Collecters are brutal.

A new player will find this game much harder than at launch. It won't be until later, when they have unlocked more kits and more weapons to play with, that the game becomes easier than it used to be.

While BEs were nerfed, you're ignoring all the bonuses the original human characters have received, you know, the ones that players have to start with.  The original humans are significantly more powerful now than they were at launch.

Adept
  - Singularity redesigned into an awesome power
  -  Shockwave received MASSIVE buffs
 - Base melee doubled - Incredible melee class now

Soldier
 - AdRush received signifcant buffs
 - CShot had base damage doubled, and a working 6 evolution added - You can demolish Bronze with just CShot and Cryo ammo now.
 - Frag Grenades received significant buffs
 - Base encumberance increased

Engineer - Probably the biggest buffs of the original Human characters
 - Biggest buff of all with the ability to detonate FEs without requiring death
 - Incinerate - Minor buffs
 - Overload - TB prime duration extended, making detonation easy now
 - Combat Drone - Buffs to multiple attack powers, nerf to it's decoy property

Sentinel - Has received fewest buffs
 - Tech Armor - Great buffs, highest protection from armor in game now

Infiltrator
 - TC was nerfed, but this was needed.  Original TC was just ridiculous.
 - Sticky Grenades - Massive base damage buff
 - Cryo Blast - Minor Buffs, but no longer requires death for CEs

Vanguard
 - Massive buffs to Biotic Charge
 - Massive buffs to Shockwave (not that anyone ever uses it on the Novaguard)

Bronze is soloable, but you need a L20 character with pretty solid weapon unlocks. I can do it fairly reliably on a L20 salarian infiltrator with either the Viper or Widow + L5 ammo/barrel upgrades.

Bronze is able to be soloed  easily with krogan sentinel  from lvl 10 on . Spec rage  and nades  carry a good shotgun or assualt rifle or both  . Use warfighter or shocktrooper upgrade your ready to go . Was able to do bronze without using any medgel with this guy .

I should have read the initial post date, I read the Bioware employee reply and was WTF......she needs to L2P...lol....but back then, well in April for me anywhow Bronze was a challenge, even by May I fealt there was no way I woud ever enter gold and people playing that must have issues:)

It's funny to look back, I wonder if this employee is still around to see the progress both sides have made.

Nostalgia.

My first match was a disgusting embarrassment. I went in as an N7 1 into gold since I was so leet in SP that I played through my first SP playthrough on Insanity, ya know, 'cuz Shepard is that tough and so am I :|

Yeah.... I played bronze for a long time after that. And spent real money on JEP's so that I could go back to gold and not get yelled at for having no gel and no rockets to go with my NO SKILLZ.

I have basically restarted the game, by playing on the PS3.  The game is still much easier now than it was when I started my XBox journey, for the reasons you mentioned.
