The problem with DA2 is not the dev team, the problem is that it takes at least 2 years to develop a good, polished game while the DA2 team had only 16 months

Agreed!

DA2 was rushed, they didn't have enough time to make an interesting world to explore or add depth to the story and characters.

Your loss, since you're coming across as more whiny than the people your complaining about.

If people have concerns about Mass Effect 3 than they should backup their concerns with things that are related to Mass Effect such as things they saw in the demo or things in the first two games they hoped were addressed.  ME 1 and ME 2 are way more relevant to ME 3 than DA 2 will ever be.  The reason I am a fan of both franchises is because they are so different from each other.  When I need a break from the Mass Effect universe I often play Dragon Age (both of them) to get a completely different feel in a completely different setting with completely different gameplay mechanics.  Only similarities I see are squad based combat (though the combat itself is much different) and sometimes the sharing of voice actors.

DA2 has relevance.

EA put pressure on Bioware to release DA2 as soon as possible, the reason why it is nowhere as good as DA:O. If EA  put the same pressure on ME3, than the same effect might happen to ME3, but I think ME3 is too big of a franchise and the expectations and audience for ME3 are much higher than DA2 for Bioware to rush the same way they did DA2, I hope that at least. Though, what I've seen from the demo, it looks like ME3 will be good.

Are you serious? You can easily say this with the poor animations in ME3? Why couldn't they keep the same animations from before? Will there even be a HD texture pack for the low clothing textures?

Beating a dead horse
but..
ME was a rpg with shooter elements

ME2 was a shooter with tacked on rpg

What will ME3 be?
a mish mash?

and BSN have turned into BDD, any form of fair design criticism is hollered at as "PC elitism" or "get with the program, lobotomise for an easier life, one button to solve all your problems!"

BW have produced some marvellous adventures, So I´m giving the benefit of a doubt.

I guess they still haven't fixed toggle on helmets in ME2?

Forget about CoD. The multiplayer in ME3 was added on. I actually don't mind it being added on. If it's done right co-op missions can add to the game. I hardly play the single player campaigns in CoD and BF... just straight into the MP. I hate the campaigns.

ME3 to me is a single player game. Now if adding the MP section doesn't take away from the SP enjoyment, I'm all for it. l

Actually.... I was very worried after DA 2 (I didnt like demo but I still bought collectors edition of the game - I was disapointed)... But with ME3? I really liked the demo - even multiplayer (which I dont usually play :) ). So... I am a little more calm. Yet still... I was little disapointed by some lines in the game - but maybe in the end they will fit in.

The animations are funny and a great source of comic relief, but they're not game breaker for me. Besides, with everything that has been said about the demo, that it isn't the real deal or it is, I'm going into ME3 with an open mind.

Maybe some people don't get caught up in graphics or animations.  Maybe they care more about story and gameplay. Besides I didn't see anything wrong with the look of ME 3.

I haven't played COD but thinking about buying it since everyone mentions it all the time. I really want to know what exactly people complain about.

The only one I've played was Black Ops, but I liked it enough to almost max my level. No way in hell would I keep going, though. I didn't like it that much, but it's fun enough with friends.

Besides the early walk animations, I'd say the running animations for all three games has been slightly awkward.  However, I don't play PC, nor do I run HD on these TV's, so I'm not seeing huge graphical downgrades, but I play 360, so the PC community has its own problems.

Sometimes I think it would be better if the board was console segregated.

Thing is ME 3 has had plenty of development time, it has been a little over 2 years now since the release of ME 2 and I know they have been working on ME 3 since before the release of ME 2.  That is relatively the same as the time frame between ME 1 and ME 2 and it is safe to say ME 2 wasn't rushed.

There is a part of me that is wary after what happened with DA2, but it is a very, very, very small part. I know ME3 has had more development time and it's a franchise that Bioware would be more careful about than DA because of how big it is and expectations of it. My wariness also became smaller when I played the demo, so I'm looking forward to the game.

They should really break the general discussion into 2 parts. When should be called "Mass Effect 3 General Discussion- Console" while the other should be called "Mass Effect 3 General Discussion- PC". Kinda like the Fifa forum.

That way won't have freaking PC vs. console war every day.

I'd tolerate that, I don't usually see PS3vs360 wars on this forum.  To be quite frank, two years ago I said if the PS3 got ME 2, the 360 should get Demon Souls...and then we got Dark Souls.  So, I wouldn't be sad if Microsoft dropped their block and give the PS3 ME 1, after all, they shouldn't be limited either.  Or preferred, in the case of EA sometimes.

Too true, I guess.

Also, maybe worried is too strong. I mean only sort of half worried, if you get what I mean.

Aye, but the "COD-era" as I called it started between MW1 and 2, when it became clear that you could create video game cash cows.

Apprehensive I believe is a better word than "worried" in my case. But still looking forward to it, and have little doubt I'll enjoy it.

Also, posting in this thread, in my Jaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaag.

I believe bioWare will deliver on this game. I'm not worried I will enjoy this game no matter what. I loved mass effect and the shooting mechanics and cover system in that game don't even compare to ME2 or ME3 demo. Plus the weapon upgrade system in ME3 looks to be the best in the series.
