Whole thread is wrong. I understand if someone wants their female soldiers dainty rather than realistic, but I am sorry, I too see military men and women (Fort Bragg) and while anatomy is different; the purpose filled stride and sense of urgency inherent in most active duty soldiers is usually brisk and efficient. Now however if the casual walk or jog is like that then we do have a problem.

The only fail that Bioware did in relation to female animation occurred in Dragon Age Origins.( ) Because there, not one of the females was a trained soldier (Dwarf exception arguable)

Here, however the animations for Femshep are reasonable. Like others have mentioned; I thought the bar swigging was a little excessive.

ME2's FemShep spreads her legs to everyone and everything.

Maybe you guys just refuse to accept the truth that FemShep is kinda skanky.

I love the way she walks and I'm happy they didn't change it and hope it doesn't change for the full game. She doesn't need to be walking like a super model on the runway to be a "proper" woman. I hate the very idea that people think women should look a certain way and behave a certain way to be a woman and this whole walking thing adds to the ridiculous crap. Not all women walk the same and I know women who walk in the manner that femShep does.

If you pay attention at all, in the scene where she is talking to Wrex and she is coming from the front, walking in this more "feminine" manner you people desire. I'm surprised people didn't celebrate that scene.

Do you guys expect her to walk around with hands up to her chest, waving them around like a T-Rex?

And here, let me leave this.

Because people are now "brainwashed" for not liking the way animations were handled in the ME3 demo or in ME2? I love the conclusions these forums leap to. <_<

I stand like that :D

People don't want a super model, people want the walking of a human female.

Instead of that, we have Donna Kong. ME1 Animations were perfect.

My femshep is an alpha so i don't mind her body language being aggressive/masculine, but the run/walk has gotta be sorted out.

No way could i play the game with that in front of me all the time 8'(

I've got to say, no matter how she runs, FemShep's W-H-R is much improved in ME3. She must've been hitting the stairmaster during her trial on Earth becuase she's got some tight curves going.

In ME1, FemShep moved kinda alright (a bit too school girly for me), but MaleShep moved like a female jogger. In ME2, MaleShep moved like a grown bull, and FemShep moved like an over-masculine russian mountain explorer. It hasn't peaked me to the point of unplayable, but still, meh. On facebook they said they made custom animations for her after the Reinstated trailer, though, and the Demo build is from December/January, so *fingers crossed

It is not about "being soldier", it's just extremely bad animation:

Male Shepard is a soldier, female Shepard is a soldier. Male Shepard moves like a soldier, female Shepard moves like a soldier.  Unless she was a prostitute going to her daily "grind" I doubt she'd be moving any differently in any visible way.

Just because a person is a "soldier" doesn't mean his or her bone structure and habitual movements automatically change. Women walk slightly differently, sit slightly differently and usually have different mannerisms. While the mannerisms can change due to personality (though it wouldn't hurt to see some variation among genders), the others really don't. That's what people are complaining about here.

Some people would rather play FemShep as a soldier with grace off the battlefield, rather than the automatic tomboy with no femininity in her anywhere. I know a few female soldiers IRL; they don't just stop being female when they're off duty.

On duty too.

Moreover, in this way does not move any healthy human being. In the case of a maleShep is just a little less strange.

For goodness sakes, she's a soldier. Do you want the DA2 FemHawke hip wiggle? I honestly ended up doing a BoyHawke run through on that basis alone.

Yes please no Hawke. A super soldier walks in an athletic way. At least during missions. She does not **** around like Hawke. And people thought that Hawke walk was womanly natural... Are they crazy and did not see how ordinary women walk on street? *face palm*

I like to imagine that over 150 years into the future, humanity will have a more mature and intelligent perception of biological sex and gender. We will have progressed beyond the irrational culturally-enforced division between 'man' and 'woman', and see people as just that; people.

It's radical, I know.

We're humans. We can be brought enlightenment, equality, ideals and such, but we still remain humans. Man and woman are different. In physiology, biology, even our thought patterns differ. So there will be differences made.

I agree, the animation should NOT feel so awkward to look at. That clip someone posted of FemShep running at begginning of demo just looks awful, to me looks very awkward and unrealistic run for male or female. Now I am not saying FemShep needs to be "super model" feminine as someone complained about. But more feminine then what we have currently. One thing that has always bugged me and most likely it is just me is how FemShep sits. Perfect example in ME2 whenever you talk with Aria and you are both sitting, Shepard puts one leg horizontal over the other while Aria sits more feminine with legs crossed next to each other, to me this looks just weird (the way FemShep sits), now I am not saying she should sit like Aria I do realise she has armor on at this point and would most likely not work, but rather than what she did in ME2 I would rather just keep both feet on the ground.

Seriously! It's ridiculous that people are so obsessed with whether or not FemShep is "feminine" enough. She's too busy saving the galaxy to worry about how her butt looks in her armor. It's not always about your penis, kids.

Pretty sure it's not fair to say it's a penis dominated thought to want more feminine animations.

It is fair. You are saying that becuase she doesn't have a penis she should behave (or walk) a certian way. Maybe she should dress a certain way too. How else should women decorate themselves in order to meet your satisfaction?
