Don't agree on level restrictions. Despite all the butthurt it appears to cause people (because video games are serious business) people should be able to play on whatever difficulty they like. It really depends on the player anyhow. I started (level 1) on silver, and I did just fine (though I admit I made more assists than kills), and the first time I got to the last waves of gold rank I was level 11, and the two others were 12 and 14, respectively.

I've seen plenty of level 1 players who are just shooter-ific gods do quite well at all levels. I'm level 17 and would be a total liability on Gold because I've got no shooter skills.

The whole system needs to be improved for launch if it hasn't been done yet.

For instance I noticed that if your group doesn't fill up during the first seconds you joined it, there's no point to wait for more people, you won't get them. The game should merge public groups when it's possible: if you have 2 groups of 2 people just merge them. Another example, I can't count the number of times we were waiting for a 4th and at the same time the number of times the number of members dropped to one - me - that's a case where I should be automatically added to a group of 3, I shouldn't have to wait forever (which I did only once).

It leads to the situation where you have better luck finding a group by hopping from one to another... And don't get me started with the hassle to find a group for a Gold.

I'm not an MP guy but is this the way these things work? I would think you'd have a list of "games" so you can see which ones you can "fill up" to get to 4. In the FFL leagues this is pretty much the approach you see Game A (10 of 12 players), Game B (11 of 12 players)...and so on. That seems better than randomnly dropping people inot games with only 1 othe player.

I also noticed this. And when you finish a map and there are rooms on your lobby, most of the times no one will join.

I'd also like to see more joining during the match. You know, during the first to third wave.

A connection bar to the host player would also be apprecitated.

I agree very much with the group searching issue. I have two friends who aren't always online at the same time. Even when we're all together, we still could use a fourth to round out our team. And if someone leaves, they aren't replaced. There's just an empty space that causes everyone else to bail out and go for another quickmatch because there is no way it'll fill back up.

I wouldn't say it's keeping me from playing, but fixing it would definitely save me time between load screens between dropped games and picking up a new quickmatch.

Agreed on all points -- ESPECIALLY the lobby time limit.

Surely this should've been obvious to BioWare. Keep the ready up system so players can start before the time limit ends but the time limit is there so that no lobby goes beyond 60 seconds.

Things we absolutely need are

1) Seeing ping.
2) Typing-chat feature.
3) The matchmaking ideas outlined in the OP.

I agree with you 100% on most of these.

I play with 2 other friends and we never get a 4th squad player to join our public games. A 4th player would be nice on Silver and Gold. Searching for a match with a friend or two would be a huge plus.

I've basically upped to playing Silver or higher now and it gets frustrating when I join a game when the rest of the squad is lower than level 10. Sure, not letting low level players is a little harsh but how about making use of the N7 rating system? Maybe if a player has a high enough N7 rating (ex. level 10 or higher) to show they've actually played a couple bronze games or the game at all, would be acceptable to "unlock" the difficulty. It gets frustrating when you actually want to tackle the higher challenges in a public game, when your usual group of squaddies aren't on.

On your last point, I can't tell you how many times I've joined a public game and have had 3 players ready and the last player is taking 5-10 minutes to hit ready.. I mean, just do your stuff before you search for a match! The only reason why I'm complaining about this is because it's inevitable that another player will get impatient and leave due to this last guy who won't ready up.. A time limit in the lobby would be nice.

what I dont understand is, why most of the time when you enter a multiplayer game the group is incomplete and sometimes youre put into a game by yourself, as in matchmaker could not even find ONE person to join. incredible. cant matchmaker run long enough so that it has at the very least the correct number of players for a game? since it doesnt balance level or anything atm. during this time it can show you the group forming process with info such as players found/in lobby while searching so you know the game hasnt frozen. an in game lobby would be nice to, so players can form their own groups for higher level difficulties OR you could restrict player levels for certain difficulties (but im against this for challenge reasons) but again ppl prob complain about high level scrubs so best leave the group forming up to players.

The reason this happens is the same reason as people can't join some peoples created game.
For example when I created a Public match none could join. But when my brother created a public match (he's on the same internet, just with different firewall settings on our computers) then people could join without any problem at all.
So the thing is not that it couldn't find any people for you, rather that they couldn't connect to you, that is also why you sometimes see spots that is open, even tho the game is full, me and my brother tried this many times it is someone who tries to connect but is unable to.

The game creator should be able to set level limits. Its that simple. Cant play a gold game right now, a couple of players are always lvl10 or so and break the game.

Im especially looking forward to keep all these low level "pro" players away. Once text chat will be enabled, and they will die, logically. Then they will spam chat with various excuses, and start getting offensive because of the "butthurt".

Lowlevel - keep it to bronze.

I think there needs to be an option to search by region (Europe, USA etc). Really hope its in the final game. Trying to connect to someones Xbox on the other side of the world is always tricky.
